Chika Kakazu

After receiving B.F.A. in graphic design from Savannah College of Art and Design, Chika started creative career at American Apparel inc. as a junior designer to promote their ethical propaganda of "Sweatshop-free". After returning Japan, as a member of the creative team of Avery Dennison, she proposed and spread the importance of sustainable packaging design and branding to global retail companies.

The creative work of Chika Kakazu has been honored by the highly prestigious A' Design Award & Competition in Grafaic. The Duais Iarainn A' Design Award marks the achievement of Chika Kakazu in the international design competition. In the competition, Chika Kakazu entered anonymously, and an international grand jury panel of established academics, design professionals and press members decided by blind peer review.

The 2021 - 2022 edition of the A' Design Award & Competition brought the recognition to Chika Kakazu. The meritocratic rankings of Designers.org place Chika Kakazu at position 6,081 worldwide and at position 342 in An tSeapáin. Chika Kakazu holds the World Design Rating title Cleachtóir Le Teacht.
