העבודה, Waves, חוקרת את החוויה האוניברסלית של הים, במטרה לשחזר את המשמעות של העצמי הלא-מודע של האמנית. יצירתה החלה בתמונה של גל ים. משוואת אנטרופיה חזותית גובשה פיזית, ואחריה פישוט והפחתת אלמנטים להשגת אפקט רנטגן. דרך פרספקטיבה ייחודית ואינטימית זו, מרטה מורטו מתארת בסטיאר ייחודי. הצורות המתוארות מובנות כביטויים של ארכיטיפים קדמוניים, המגיחים ישירות מהלא-מודע הקולקטיבי היונגיאני.
