Its birth marks a new beginning in the long history of the archive (from 1852).

So the design had to reflect the long history behind and at the same time to stand out from the previous brand.
Kev Tshawb Fawb: The previous brand was a private subject. The new one is a public institution held by Tuscany Region which recognised the exceptional cultural value of the Alinari holdings and resolved to purchase them and began an operation of cultural policy and investment, which has saved this archive, one unique in the world for its size and value, from dispersal and dismemberment, while also guaranteeing its future use and accessibility.
Kev Txhawb Siab: The term photography comes from a Greek compound word, light and handwriting, literally "writing with light". Brand features are: Sculptural lettering, Black and white (light and shadow), Accent on "Alinari" word, Focus on the letter A (lowercase, as abstraction of the camera lens). The A is photo container to represent the huge and historical Alinari archive.
