About Flatiron Teeb

Achille Castiglioni ntseeg ruaj khov hais tias tus neeg tsim qauv yuav tsum tshem tawm, tshem tawm, tshem tawm kom txog thaum kawg nrhiav tau qhov tseem ceeb ntawm tus qauv tsim. Bruno Munari tau hais tias ua kom tej yam nyuab yog yooj yim, thaum ua kom tej yam yooj yim yog nyuaj heev. Flatiron yog los ntawm kev sib txuas ntawm ob qhov kev xav no. Ib qhov chaw teeb pom kev uas npog los ntawm lub cev uas tsim los ntawm daim hlau yooj yim nrog tsuas yog ib qho kev quav xwb. Qhov tsawg kawg nkaus ntawm cov ntsiab lus rau ib yam khoom lag luam uas muaj qhov tseem ceeb loj, ib pawg teeb uas muaj tus qauv tsim uas yooj yim npaum li siv tau zoo.

Unique Properties: Flatiron is a collection of lamps characterized by a structure that is as essential as it is of great visual impact. A laser-cut metal sheet with a single fold, this is enough to have a product with great prominence.
Dimensions & Packaging: Width 350mm x Depth 200mm x Height 1900mm

Production Technology: Lasercut metal sheet with a single fold for the structure. Dimmerable LED strip as a light source.
Design Challenge: Bruno Munari once said that to complicate things is easy, while to simplify things is very hard. Achille Castiglioni was convinced that the designer should delete, delete, delete and at the end find the core aspect of the design. Flatiron comes from the combination of this two references. A simple metal sheet with just one fold that encases the light source. The challenge has been to reduce the project to the minimum amount of elements.
Research: Starting from a deep research on floor lamps, we focused then on understanding which could be the right kind of light source. Because the aim of this product is not to be a technical lamp, but to be an decorative ambient lamp, the diffused light is the right choice and the shape of the structure itself orientates the beam. We invested a lot of time in the selection of the right light source because we wanted it to be warm and dimmerable.
Inspiration: The combination of the world of origami and the world of architecture is what is at the base of Flatiron family.
The name itself has two meaning. First is a reference to the famous building in Manhattan with a triangular shape. Than explains how it is made, starting from a simple flat sheet of iron.
Project Duration: Development of the project took 4 months and took place in Milan
Operation Flow: Simply plug the lamp, press the dimmer and you can turn on or off the lamp and dimm the intensity of light
