Kev Sib Tw Tsim Qauv: The building is located next to a store designed by Paulo Mendes da Rocha, a Pritzker Prize-winning architect. Although it is not a listed heritage site, the store is an important icon for the city. The architectural challenge was to design the new building in a way that respected the store's volume, with alignments, setbacks, and height restrictions that ensure its visibility and preserve its relevance in the urban context.
Kev Txhawb Siab: The inspiration was to integrate the building into the urban fabric, making it accessible through public transportation and incorporating sustainable strategies such as stormwater management, spaces for green vehicles, high-performance glass, and efficient water usage. Biophilic elements were added to reflect the nearby Parque do Povo, along with tree-lined, pleasant streets.
