Ini adalah film dokumenter fotografi Wugang, Perusahaan Besi dan Baja Wuhan. Didukung oleh Rusia dan dibangun pada tahun 1958, Wugang milik negara adalah salah satu pabrik baja terbesar di China dan pernah menandai industrialisasi dan modernisasi negara tersebut. Namun, industri tersebut menyebabkan pencemaran lingkungan yang parah. Dengan mengabadikan kampus Wugang yang sangat tercemar dengan gambar-gambar yang suram, proyek ini mengungkap harga yang harus dibayar dan konsekuensi di balik kejayaan modernisasi dan kemakmuran ekonomi, yang memprovokasi pemirsa untuk mencari lingkungan yang bersih dan sehat.

- Unique Properties
- This is a photographic documentary of Wugang, the Wuhan Iron & Steel Co. Supported by the Russian and built in 1958, the state-owned Wugang is one of the biggest and most important steel factories in China, once signifying the industrialization & modernization of the country. However, such industry causes severe environmental pollution. Through capturing the heavily polluted campus with somber images, this community project reveals the price paid and the consequence behind the glory of economic prosperity.

- Digital photography using a Canon 5DSR with a EF24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens.
- Design Challenge
- It is very difficult to obtain permission to take photo of this state-owned steel factory. The condition of the photo site is poor and limited, often difficult to get to the ideal places to obtain the best photographic angle.
- Research
- This is a photographic documentary of a steel factory. The design research points out the pollution and public health problem in the working and living environment; resulting the insights on price paid and the consequence behind the glory of modernization and economic prosperity. These images provoke the viewers into the search of a clean and healthy environment.
- Inspiration
- Inspired by contemporary artists such as Anselm Kiefer and Sally Mann, this environmental health and pollution control community project documents the heavily polluted and decaying factory campus of Wugang with abstract, lyrical and somewhat somber images. This group of photography points out the price paid and the consequence behind the glory of modernization and economic prosperity in China, provoking the viewers into the search of a clean and healthy working and living environment.
