About Cinque Divano
Cinque è un divano a tre posti progettato per essere assemblato con facilità, senza viti né chiodi. Un originale sistema a incastro consente di montare e smontare il divano a mano, tutte le volte che si desidera, senza l'uso di attrezzi. La struttura è realizzata in multistrato di betulla accoppiato con Fenix e sagomata mediante lavorazione a controllo numerico. I cuscini sono rivestiti in ecopelle o in tessuti naturali lavorati a mano. Il divano misura 205 per 88 per 73 centimetri e, una volta smontato, soli 10 centimetri di altezza, così da poter essere riposto in uno spazio ridotto. Sono disponibili versioni per interni ed esterni.

- Design Challenge
- In addition to the conception of the interlocking system, the concept of Cinque is to demonstrate that it is possible to reduce the use of plastic and hardware for the creation of large-volume furniture.
- Research
- The aim of the project is to create a sofa that can be disassembled and reassembled without the aid of tools and hardware, eliminating the plastic in the packaging and that is recyclable. The Cinque sofa is available in both indoor and outdoor versions where it finds its maximum functionality: when in the winter the sofa has no reason to be used outdoors, it can easily be disassembled and put away, taking up minimal space.
- Inspiration
- In my removals, the sofa was the most difficult and complex piece of furniture to move. Remembering the Legos I had as a child, I wanted to make this object light, removable and not bulky.
- Project Duration
- The initial project was born in 2013 for a design competition. Exhibited at the Fuori Salone del Mobile in Milan in the same year and at the Italian Cultural Institute in Vienna on the occasion of the Design Week. It was reborn in 2021 in collaboration with a local carpentry.
- Operation Flow
- The sofa, static and bulky furniture, becomes transportable. It can be disassembled and reassembled as often as desired without the need for tools.
