Design Details

Unique Properties
Treasure The Moment is one of the most heartfelt Mandopop events in 2025. Conceived and collectively produced by legendary artist Mai Meng, the concert blends reimagined classics, immersive stage design, and poetic visuals to awaken generational memories and move new audiences alike. Centering on themes of companionship and nostalgia, it traces a 35 year musical journey of Mai Meng, transforming the performance into a shared emotional experience, a timeless tribute to love, memory, and the power of music.
Inspiration
The core concept of this concert tour is returning to the Age of Innocence Through Music. The concert title, Treasure The Moment, in Mandarin, is inspired by poetic verse and symbolizes the gentle portrayal of love, memory, and time in the musical works of Mai Meng. Through the interplay of music and spatial design, we aim to guide the audience into a personal landscape of memories, evoking deep emotional resonance.
Research
We conducted audience-focused research to balance nostalgia with innovation in Mai Meng’s 35th anniversary tour. The goal was to design a concert that resonates with longtime fans and younger generations. Using surveys, social media analysis, and streaming data, we gathered insights from over 1000 participants. The research shaped song selection, stage design, and marketing strategies, successfully increasing cross-generational appeal and revitalizing a classic icon for today’s audiences.
Challenge
Balancing classic charm with creative innovation was key. We kept the essence of Mai Meng’s songs while using minimalist staging and new arrangements to evoke freshness without losing authenticity. To connect with Gen Z, we collaborated with fan communities, used short videos, and influencer marketing to reframe her image—from “parents’ idol” to a warm, relatable voice. Touring across diverse cities, we adapted technical plans and rehearsals for each venue, ensuring every show delivered consistent quality and emotional resonance.
Realization and Technology
We adopted a poetic minimalism concept, merging 90s nostalgia with modern stage tech. Using fan research, mood mapping, and lyrical analysis, we designed visuals with modular, movable, transparent LED panels and high-resolution simulated 3D effects to reflect each song’s mood. Lighting synced to BPM and emotion, while sound was venue-tailored. Cloud-based coordination enabled consistency across cities, ensuring each performance felt immersive and emotionally true.
Operation and Interaction
We created heartfelt interactions to make each show unforgettable. Fans receive a collectible city-specific stamp, and each stop features two exclusive songs specifically picked by the artist for the city. A live sing-along invites shared emotion, while handwritten artist letters are hidden under random seats for the audience to find. In a special segment, fans get to pick a song and may share their personal story, turning the stage into a space for connection, surprise, and meaningful memories.
Project Duration and Location
The project began in mid-May 2025 in Foshan, China. It is currently touring through Beijing and Shanghai, with plans to expand to many more cities in the near future.
