About Crystal 크리스탈 조명 예술 설치는

설치 미술 Crystal은 지역 기업 홍보를 목적으로 하는 Yonge + St. Clair Fall Art Festival(캐나다 토론토)을 위해 제작되었습니다. 크리스탈은 높이 3미터, 길이 10미터의 추상적인 3D 물체로, 크리스탈 격자 전체의 변형 과정을 보여주기 위한 것입니다. 작가는 삼각형 모양을 사용하여 크리스탈과 유사한 체적 구조의 아치를 만들었습니다. 모양의 윤곽을 잡기 위해 구조는 로프 편직으로 특징지어졌으며 지상에서 5m 높이의 LED 네온 플렉스 조명으로 조명되었습니다.

Unique Properties: The art installation "Crystal" is made for the “Yonge + St. Clair” Fall Art Festival which is aimed to promote local businesses. The "Crystal" has been designed to show the process of transformation throughout the crystal lattice. Using triangular shapes, we created a volumetric structural arch resembling a crystal. To define the shape, we included rope knitting in the design.

Production Technology: Materials used in the project:
115 meters of copper tube pipes,
900 meters of ropes,
1000 zip-ties,
5 meters of LED Neon Flex
Research: To implement the idea to life, we had to make a decision on how tubes should be connected. Using ropes was a great solution to keep the structure solid enough and at the same time to have the ability to adjust angles of pipes during assembly. To make sure this works, we developed two additional mock-ups before doing a real one.
Inspiration: Our lives and lifestyles change (transform) over time. We utilized this idea in the "Crystal" installation, one of 6 art installations presented by local artists during the “Yonge + St. Clair” Fall Art Festival (Toronto, Canada) with the main theme of transformation.
Project Duration: One month of outdoor exposure in Toronto, Canada (Yonge + St. Clair)
Operation Flow: The installation "Crystal" stimulates the senses of passers-by and makes them think about their own journey through life. Copper tubes and ropes used in the structure are aimed to symbolize the diversity of life. Cooper tubing has been used to represent choices. People choose the path that they are on and although it may not always seem like it, have control over their life and destiny. Ropes have been used to symbolize the many factors which influence people’s choices.

The piece is aimed to merge with the urban landscape and change over time, gaining features from its surroundings.
