빛의 왕복(Shuttles of Light)은 대만의 단독주택을 위한 주거 인테리어 디자인이다. 7층 규모의 이 주택은 413.7제곱미터의 실내 공간을 갖추고 있으며, 3대가 함께 거주하는 가족을 위해 계획되었다. 부유하는 듯한 철제 계단과 개폐식 바닥을 갖춘 중층 공간이 각 층을 연결하며 모든 층에 자연광을 끌어들인다. 칸막이와 계단이 차지하는 면적을 줄여 보다 여유로운 공간을 확보했다. 거실과 주방은 일반적인 위치를 서로 맞바꾸어 실내 동선을 개선했다. 벽과 천장은 로토스 페인트로 마감하여 광물과 같은 질감을 구현했다.

고유 특성: The top floor provides a comfortable and independent living space for the couple, with an abundance of natural light. The space also encourages connection, allowing the couple to stay in touch with each other and the world around them. The mezzanine level, which features a retractable floor and floating steel stairs, serves as a beautiful transition between the upper and lower levels. It introduces even more light and creates a sense of continuity throughout the home.

Upstairs, the sleeping area has soft and tranquil lighting, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The hallway, with a view of the sky, provides a bright space for changing clothes and getting ready for the day. On the lower level, there is a peaceful living area and a study, both flooded with ample light thanks to the tall windows. Finally, the mezzanine level connects and provides comfort, making it the perfect spot for relaxing and unwinding after a long day.

생산 기술: The most special material is the lotos paint, which allows wall and ceiling parts have a mineral-like texture after being coated with it by a special process. And the key floating steel stairs with a strong structure introduce light and connect the upper level and the lower level.
디자인 과제: The spacious living room as a home theater, the window-side restaurant to accommodate up to eight people and the kitchen island dramatically changed the typical traffic flow indoors, with the living room and the kitchen swapping locations. This has significantly enhanced the independence and interconnectivity of each of the three areas.
연구: After the evaluation of the needs of each resident and with the ample areas for practical purposes, the footprint for partitions and stairs is reduced, to allow more free space and natural lighting. Light and life flow through each floor.
영감: Shuttles of Light in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, is a detached house. The conceptual thinking started with its roughcast status and aimed to create a wonderful living space for a family of three generations. Unobstructed light is there when eating, cooking, and reading. After the estimates of the needs of each resident and with the ample areas for practical purposes, the footprint for partitions and stairs is reduced, to allow more free space and natural lighting.
