About Ryo 안락의자
Ryo는 하나의 연속된 형태로 조형된 안락의자이다. 좌석에서 등받이까지 이어지는 물결 형태의 곡면이 끊김 없는 루프를 형성한다. 이 디자인은 일상적인 가구가 보다 자유로운 형태를 취할 수 있는지에 대한 질문에서 출발했다. 복잡한 3차원 곡면은 제작이 까다로웠으며, 신축성 있는 패브릭을 사용하여 구현되었다. 안락의자의 크기는 너비 725밀리미터, 깊이 730밀리미터, 높이 800밀리미터이다. 곡면의 셸 구조는 앉은 사람을 감싸 안으며, 공간에 조각적인 요소를 더한다.

- Production Technology
- Creating the shape of the tertiary surface proved extremely challenging. It was achieved by employing stretch fabric.
- Design Challenge
- Expressing the form of the cubic surface and realising it while utilising the engineers' skills proved extremely challenging. Through repeated discussions, we continued to seek the correct solution until completion was achieved.
- Inspiration
- This project began with the question: could we express the commonplace piece of furniture that is the armchair in a freer form? The idea expanded from the seat to back, the undulations creates an uninterrupted loop.

- The project started in Apr. 2020 in Tokyo and finished in Jan. 2021 in Tokyo, and was exhibited in Salone del Mobile in June 2022.
- Operation Flow
- This unique chair, which adorns the space, envelops those who sit upon it. It promises an experience unlike any other.
