About The Henley Naveroka Navxweyî ya Qehwexaneyê

The Henley naveroka navxweyî ya qehwexaneyekê ye li Hong Kongê. Deriyê têketinê dişibihe deriyê keştiyeke fezayê û dibe alîkar ku meriv bikeve rêhelekî dirêj û teng. Li dawiya rêhelê, mêwandar digihîjin bara qehweyê û qada rûniştinê ya sereke. Nebat, xemlên xwar, ronahiyên taybet ên çêkirî û materyalên bi teksûr û temambûnên cuda li binê banî, dîwaran û erdê hatine bikaranîn. Pola, aluminyûm, beton, dar, camê taybet û qumaş balansek di navbera rûberên req û nerm de saz dikin. Sêwirana giştî herikîna dorhêlî di nav vê fezaya bi şeklê ne-rêkûpêk de, ku bi qasî 250 metre çargoşî ye, piştgirî dide.

Unique Properties
Through an entrance that resembles the door of a spacecraft, you enter the brightly lit space through a long, narrow corridor. As you reach the end of the corridor, you are welcomed by the coffee bar and the main seating area.

To highlight the coffee experience and ensure comfort while recreating a space journey within the irregularly-shaped space, we incorporated plants, curves, custom-made lighting, materials in different textures and finishes into the ceiling, walls and flooring.
Dimensions & Packaging
Space area: approx. 250 sq m
Ceiling height: 2.4 m - 3.0 m

Production Technology
Whilst it was our intention to create an environment that imitates spacecrafts, our team felt that it was important to achieve a balance between hard and soft, warm and cold materials, hence we included greenery and carefully handpicked the following materials to be used within the space:

Steel (in multiple finishes and treatments), aluminum, concrete, wood, feature glass and ESG fabrics and paint
Design Challenge
Much effort was paid to embody the design concept and a sense of spaciousness into the space, which has curved walls and a comparatively low ceiling. Since there is a void right in the middle of the space, and the design process began before the building was even complete, many edits had to be made to the original design in order to apply it to the space. Last but not least, we took extra care in integrating details into the narrow entrance and long corridor to lead users into the main space.
Inspiration
Inspired by the client’s brand aesthetics, the neighbourhood’s history as Hong Kong’s inner-city airport and the rise of space tourism, we created the interior design of the client’s tenth location in Hong Kong with a palette and a careful selection of materials that align with the concept and the client’s brand identity.
Project Duration
The project started in May 2022, and finished in December 2022 in Hong Kong.
Operation Flow
The design and flow are strongly connected to the architecture of the space. Given that the main space is tucked behind a narrow entrance and long corridor, we paid extra attention in designing the space for a circular flow: customers enter the spacecraft experience by the corridor, enjoy the brand’s coffees, pastries and merchandise, and appreciate the feature points of the interior design.
