Production Technology

The design is to recreate a place where one can have a sense of being transported back in time to enjoy the serenity and tranquil of a simpler life with the benefit of advanced technology. The richness of textures and materials used are heavily prioritized to enable the design to match perfectly with one another while, contrasting decors which blends in well with the interior were also used to add in interest and to bring out the uniqueness of the spa.

Design Challenge

Due to the geographical location of Malaysia, many materials were source from other countries in order to get the ambiance and the authenticity of what to be presented in the interior.

Research

There has been an extensive research on luxury spas when designing as we wanted to capture the experience of fully immersing oneself to enjoy and relax. The whole process was tedious as we needed to be able to extract samples of materials used as the hues are so similar that it will only be differentiated through textures. Besides experimenting with different textures, we experimented with different types of lighting and ways to place it in order to create a certain temperament and the results were stunning, comfortable and yet classy for many to enjoy and unwind.
