About BonBonne Nuit Bonbonverpackung

BonBonne Nuit ass eng Verpackungsdesign-Serie fir Bonbonen. Den Numm kombinéiert zwee franséisch Wierder, bon bon, wat Bonbon bedeit, a bonne nuit, wat gutt Nuecht bedeit. D'Konzept invitéiert d'Clienten hir eege luzid Dreem ze schmaachen. D'Verpackungen benotzen e Montage-Stil, deen surrealistesch Elementer zesummebréngt. Well luzid Dreem kontrolléierbar sinn, suggeréiert d'Geschicht op all Verpackung e Wonsch, deen d'Leit warscheinlech hunn. D'konzeptuell Produktnimm sollen imaginativ Szenen am Kapp ausléisen. D'Serie enthält dräi Bäidel, dräi kleng ronn Këschten an zwou rechteckeg Këschte mat Handgrëff.

Unique Properties
In order to fully bring out the concept, imagination is key. The design of the packages uses a montage style that brings together surrealistic elements. Since lucid dreams are controllable, the stories of each package are suggestive of the desires people most likely would have. Moreover, the conceptual names of each product are meant to trigger imaginative sceneries in customers’ heads.

Production Technology
To construct a unique collage, photoshop was used to create the tone, colour, and mixture of images.
Design Challenge
The biggest challenge of the design process was to come up with the best way to create a design that leads the viewer to visualise the scenery by only looking at each package. The combination of collaged images, as well as the subtle tone and colour changes, complete the whole design.
Research
During the research, the key purpose was to look for what kind of design approach would ideally lead users to imagine what they see on the package, as if they were the protagonist of the dream. Illustrating was considered at the beginning to present each dream. This way, though, might feel lack of realism and make it difficult for users to build a connection. Therefore, after considerations, photoshop was chosen to create collages of different elements to finalise the designs of the packages.
Inspiration
There are always setbacks in life, and sometimes lucid dreams are the only place to get comfort and where dreamers can freely control. The concept behind this shop is to let their customers to have a taste of their own lucid dreams. In French, bon bon means candy, and bonne nuit means good night. Therefore, the two French words combined together become the brand name, BonBonne Nuit.
Project Duration
BonBonne Nuit was created and finished in March 2020 in Vancouver.
Operation Flow
Three pouches, three mini round boxes and two rectangular handle boxes, each with various special flavours of sweets.
