About Osia Villa Mahi Matua: Hoahoa Roto Whare Nohonoho

Kuputuhi Pukapuka: Ko Osia Villa he kāinga tūmataiti kei runga i tētahi whenua 2800 mita tapawhā e tirohia ana ngā māra rāihi. Ko te hoahoa e hono ana i ngā wāhi o roto me waho, e whakapōhehe ana i te rohe i waenga i te whare marumaru me te whenua ahurei. E rua ngā mahau e tohu ana i te villa: he mahau ki te rāwhiti kua whakaritea mō te parakuihi, me tētahi mahau ki te uru kei te pae tuarua e whakamahia ana mō ngā hui ahiahi. Ko tētahi nohoanga pergola kei runga i te papa whakangahau e tautokohia ana e te ripanga kurupae o mua, ā, e whakaata ana i ngā tirohanga o te rā e tō ana. I kohia ngā rawa mai i te rohe tata tonu, ā, ka whakamahia ngā kongakonga kōhatu kāranite toenga hei whāriki huarahi.

Production Technology: The materials were sourced locally. The entire pavement for the villa was done in waste granite pieces.
Design Challenge: The challenge was to execute the pergola on first floor which was eventually supported by existing beam grid.
Research: The site location was a major inspiration for carving out spaces into the built structure. The pergola seating on the recreational floor was carved to create a sundowner spot.
Inspiration: The wide views of setting sun over the paddy fields is the main inspiration to form the private deck on the entertainment floor with a perfect balance of indoor and outdoor spaces.
