He whata pakitara a Parachute i hangaia ki te rino papa. Ka whakamahia tētahi wāhanga, ka heke te papa o taua wāhanga ki raro, ka iri ki tōna wāhi. Mā te papa e iri ana e pupuri te koti, te moheni, ngā taonga pēnei rānei, kia kore ai e taka. Kei te mata ngā tāhei karakara e wehea ana e ngā āputa whāiti, nō reira ka whakamaharatia e te whata te āhua whakairoiro o te parakuti hou, ā, ka taea hoki te pānui hei toi pakitara. With the colored stripes separated by thin spaces, the graphic design is reminiscent of a modern parachute; this theme is transformed, in a recognisable and aesthetically successful manner, into an original shelf design. - Design Challenge

- When listening to Coldplay's first album, it suddenly occurred to me to look up the word "Parachute."
It seems that the name "parachute" comes combining the Italian "parare" (to protect) with the French "chute" (to fall).
I thought that was a rather fine name.
I tried to think of devices that protect against falling.
When in use, the plank for the section being used falls, and hangs there.

- The project started in April 2017 in Tokyo and finished in October 2018 in Tokyo, and Yusuke Watanabe was exhibited in Salone del Mobile in April 2018.
