Kōrero Pukapuka: Ko Silence Mirror te hoahoanga roto o tētahi whare rūma kua whakahoutia i Taiwana. Ko te rahi o te kāinga he 112.3 mita tapawhā, ā, kei roto i tētahi whare rima tekau tau te pakeke. Ko ngā rārangi tika me ngā poraka ngāwari e whakaatu ana i te marino o te ātaahua Zen. Ka hipokina ngā wāhi pakitara nunui ki te peita kōhatu, e whakaatu ana i tētahi kiko taiao whakakotiiti i raro i te whakamārama. Ko ngā tiles nunui e whakaiti ana i ngā rārangi kitea, ā, ko te travertine e tāpiri ana i tētahi mata angiangi. I tangohia ngā wehewehenga tāpiri kia whānui ake te huringa me te whakanui i te wāhi pāpori. Kua whakaraupapatia ngā rokiroki ki ngā rohe pūtake kia whakaiti i ngā kāpata me te pupuri i ngā rūma kia rangatira tonu.

- Āhuatanga Motuhake
- Straight lines and simple blocks with natural materials interpret the calmness and aesthetics of Zen, giving modern spaces a unique sense of tranquility and harmony. In terms of storage and circulation planning, the designers minimized the necessary walking distance, making each step natural and smooth. Storages are concentrated in core areas to minimize cabinetry. This maximizes storage functionality while allowing the occupants to be minimized from the inner self to the home.
- Inenga & Pēketanga
- The site is 112.3 square meters of 50-year-old apartment including a balcony, with 2 plus 1 rooms, a living room, a dining room, and 2 bathrooms. The original 3-room layout made the circulation narrow. Considering the space serves only two people, the designers removed the extra compartments and rearranged the layout to expand the social area and pet activity space. They removed walls in the kitchen and two rooms and replaced the study room door with a sliding glass door to increase flexibility. The toilet is also enlarged, and storage is added.
- Tūtohu
- Zen aesthetics, natural materials, clean lines, minimalist design, fluidity, old apartment.
- Hangarau Whakanao
- Materials: mineral paint, travertine, tiles, wood veneer, eco-friendly latex paint, etc. The project is characterized by straight lines and flat shapes. To add more layers between the blocks, the designers chose to cover large areas of the walls with paint. The mottled natural texture of the mineral paint creates a variety of layers when exposed to light. Large-size tiles minimize the lines in the space. Finally, the undecorated travertine gives the space a delicate texture under the simple material composition.
- Wero Hoahoa
- The designers were faced with material, structural, and detailing challenges. All three require precise calculations and in-depth understanding. The first step was to upgrade the electrical plumbing system to address the limitations and pitfalls of the old building. Then, according to the design concept, the core of the project was to balance functionality and aesthetics through reduction. The designers worked through trial and error to achieve the perfect result. Each section was carefully planned to ensure that the result was aesthetically pleasing and functional.
- Rangahau

In addition, the optimized storage and circulation design enhances the efficiency of the space and realizes the minimalism from the heart to the living space.
- Whakaaweawe
- The project is a renovation of an old apartment. The owner has been living abroad for a long time and expects the home to have no complicated design and leave a natural and comfortable attitude to life. With this in mind, the designers used simple lines and natural materials to create an impression of Japanese Zen aesthetics. Reducing unnecessary decorations creates a quiet space for minimalist lovers. The layout optimizes storage and circulation efficiency, utilizing every inch of space while maximizing space efficiency. Natural textured materials embody the aesthetics of Zen inner peace.
