Idan Herbet

Idan Herbet is an industrial designer and the founder of Studio Herbet in Rehovot, Israel. Architects and interior designers bring him in when a project has one central element that no catalogue can supply: a lobby light, a staircase and handrail, a reception counter, a wall or an installation. He works out how it can be built, designs the hidden part that holds it, the structure, joints and method, and leads it through a network of workshops and factories from the drawing to the installation.

The creative work of Idan Herbet has been celebrated by the highly prestigious A' Design Award & Competition in Pencahayaan and Peralatan Dapur. A record of 2 A' Design Awards, including the A' Design Award Emas, underlines the creative excellence of Idan Herbet. In the competition, Idan Herbet entered anonymously, and an international grand jury panel of established academics, design professionals and press members decided by blind peer review.

The awards were granted between the 2018 - 2019 and 2019 - 2020 editions of the A' Design Award & Competition, a span that reflects sustained creative excellence. The meritocratic rankings of Designers.org place Idan Herbet at position 587 worldwide and at position 3 in Israel. The achievements of Idan Herbet earned the World Design Rating title Pakar Melangkaui Batas.
