Mew Gic is a modular cat furniture system that is assembled without nails. The design is based on one repeated square bamboo panel and a sisal column, joined by plastic mortise and tenon connections for quick assembly. The circular plate at the center of each panel rotates to form a cat passage, a jumping platform or a closed panel. A single panel can be fixed to a wall and used as a storage shelf, while several panels can be combined on the floor or on the wall into many shapes. Damaged parts can be replaced, which reduces waste.

Mew-gic is a DIY nail-free installation of infinitely extending pet furniture, designed to start a magical journey with a square board and a sisal column. - Design Challenge
- The biggest challenge is the realization of the structure and the arbitrary combination of a single plate like a building block. We spent a lot of time on the calculation of the circular plate rotating structure. In addition, the mortise and tenon joints have also been tested repeatedly. Guarantee the load-bearing of the product.
- Project Duration
- The project started in Shenzhen in January 2021 and completed in Shenzhen in August 2021.
- Operation Flow
- When a single plate is used, it can be installed on the wall, and the circular plate in the middle can be rotated as a storage platform; multiple plates can be assembled into any shape of cat house through plastic tenon-and-mortise joints, which can be placed on the ground or combined. Create a playground for cats on the wall.
