About Ali Alavi

Ali Alavi is a Tehran based Architect, Designer and Photographer. He was born in 1978 and got his master's degree in Architecture from Tehran Azad University in 2008. He started his artistic career as a teenager in graphic designing and continued to become a photographer in a few years. He continued to work as an industrial designer when he was studying architecture and after ten years of experience, due to his lifetime passion he started the ALI ALAVI DESIGN brand.

Interview with Ali Alavi

Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
I started my artistic career as a teenager in graphic designing and continued to become a photographer in a few years. I continued to work as an industrial designer when I was studying architecture. I always want to be a designer.
Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
I am Tehran based Architect, Designer and Photographer. I got my master's degree in Architecture from Tehran Azad University in 2008. When I was studying architecture and after ten years of experience, due to my lifetime passion I started the ALI ALAVI DESIGN brand.
What is "design" for you?
I think every think must be and need design. I think when we design somethings we respect to it and customer.
What kinds of works do you like designing most?
Architecture, Interior design, Furniture, lighting, Home wear, Watch, shoes
When do you feel the most creative?
I always (7/24) involve with design and create and really enjoy it.
What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
I always said: Just do something that you be created for it. I enjoyed my life when I designed somethings
Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
Personally , I draw inspiration from animals in nature and in most of my designs I prefer to deploy natural forms rather than using geometric forms.
How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
I think original design and good design always winner. I try make my style and do`nt follow other designer style.
What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
It is my big dream that companies trust to designer and let them fly.
How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?
It is depends on object. But my best time is 8 Original design in one hour.
What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?
Product design & industrial design Because when we design a building we design one thing But for complete the building we need many things.
What are your future plans? What is next for you?
I try to develop my Brand as a designer. looking for manufactory to make my designs and present my product.
