Established in 1998, Omdesign is a design and advertising agency 100% Portuguese. Multi-award winning by the quality and excellence of the solutions that have been created throughout more than 20 years of achievements, Omdesign works on a daily basis for clients and partners that honour them with their patronage and loyalty. Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
Established in 1998, Omdesign is a Portuguese design and advertising agency that works on a daily basis for clients that honour it with their patronage and loyalty. Based on a solid relationship between the agency and its customers, Omdesign works with leading companies worldwide in different industries such as food and beverage, mass consumption, tourism and others. The agency is recognised globally for the high quality and excellence of its work.
What makes a design successful?
Efficiency, objectiveness and mainly being truthful. “Being is not enough. One must look like” and design should play that role.
From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
At Omdesign, we are always looking forward to add value to the brands we work for, draw an effective distinction between them with design features, effective design, and also to add value to our planet based on the consumers and their current and new expectations, through the design we create or recreate. We strongly believe that each designer must have a key role in making the world better.
From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?
Like in any other job, you must love what you do. The most interesting facets of this profession are diversity, lack of formulas, liability for building and boosting the companies’ major asset – brands – and being able to consistently and effectively recreate them.
What is your "golden rule" in design?
These are some of our "golden rules": resoluteness, audacity, precision, efficiency and a lot of work.
Who are some of your clients?
Omdesign works with leading companies worldwide in different industries such as food and beverage, mass consumption, tourism and others.
What are your future plans? What is next for you?
In the years to come, we must keep on stimulating and boosting the drive and recognition given to us by our clients and their consumers, keep learning every day and never stop breaking boundaries and making our company and our country known for our excellent skills and capabilities.

Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator?
Established in 1998, Omdesign is a Portuguese design and advertising agency that works on a daily basis for those clients that honour us with their patronage and loyalty. Based on a solid relationship between us and our clients and partners, we work with leading companies worldwide in different industries such as food and beverage, large consumption, tourism and others; the high quality and excellent work we perform are recognised globally.
How did you become a designer?
The efficiency of our everyday work based on the recognition of our clients and their consumers.
What particular aspects of your background shaped you as a designer?
Like in any other job, you must love what you do. Diversity, lack of formulas, liability for building and boosting the companies’ major asset - brands - and being able to consistently and effectively recreate them.
What are your advices to designers who are at the beginning of their career?
Efficiency, objectiveness and mainly being truthful. “Being is not enough. One must look like”, and communication design should play that role.
How do you decide if your design is ready?
Red Bull and Louis Vuitton brands. Red Bull because they have built up a strong brand that is reinvented daily. Because of their attitude and audacity and untiring spirit and because their ambassadors are the best among the best. It is one of the most powerful brands of the 21st century. And Louis Vuitton because of the luxury segment we are also working in and because it is the most iconic and valuable brand in this segment; besides we are particularly fond of working in this segment given the precision and uniqueness that governs everything designed for these brands. In this case, “less is more”.
Would you tell us a bit about your lifestyle and culture?
Adding value to the brands we work for, by drawing an effective distinction between them with design features, effective design, and also adding value to our planet based on the consumers and their current and new expectations, through the design we create or recreate.
What positive experiences you had when you attend the A’ Design Award?
Throughout these years we have built a close cooperation and relationships with our partners as a result of our work and they are a boost to our on-going development and design of solutions that are innovative, differentiating and highly effective; all this caters for the asset that is of utmost importance to companies - brands. That is our everyday work.
