Interview with Vrossis

Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
actually there is no design background. Main idea came from the owners of Vrossis, and then the Brainstorm team applied the graphics. It was one of the most creative and happy period for all.
Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
Brainstorm team , is one of the most distinguished in Greece, and very well known in Europe.
What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
barceloneta chair. Timeless , refined lines, and serves its purpose 100%
What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
ha ha,you ll laugh but its auto-cad, but to be honest not working on it
What makes a design successful?
to stimulate the sense of vision , in a way that can t resist t make it yours.
When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
it is subjective, depends on someone w character, emotions , professional background, and many other factors. You have to develop a global understanding in order to make a such big evaluation.
From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
Designer creates, creation moves humanity towards. He is a leader for making history . Big responsibility like the protection of the environment.
How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
good news ..Design is eternal it eas always evolved using different means. painting is design, cinema is design. Design is the base of other arts
Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
from my trips. Travelling is food for creativity and inspiration because all senses are stimulated.
Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
in Greece we have a heritage. of course this is big luck and big value to my general education and personal culture
How do you work with companies?
very good . We form a team with people who work in these companies and then for a long period we brainstorm , all toghether
Can you describe a day in your life?
waking up, coffee, talk with friends , surfing on the net, meeting with working teams, gym then out for a drink with friends.
From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?
we are artists what better could we have in our life. WE belong to a 1% of general population that work in what they want. we are blessed.

Extended Interview with Vrossis

Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator?
Actually there is no design background , i love creation , i love modern and contemporary art, and i am a big fine. Art is my biggest love, is my hobby , and most important is my psychotherapist , for 20 years. i work as a naturopathic doctor and i created a cosmetic line because is my second big love and my dissertation for my phd.
How did you become a designer?
As i previously said , design and art is my gateway to relax, and generate only positive feelings.
What are your priorities, technique and style when designing?
i chose to be , and that is the main reason to push myself when i made a design
Which emotions do you feel when designing?
mostly visual graphics for cosmetics , and products that make people happy i.e toys in some cases.
What particular aspects of your background shaped you as a designer?
i still haven't become. As long as i leave i am learning ,so as long as you leave you are not a legend because you learn. You become one after you die , because you re not learning any more on this beautiful earth.
What is your growth path? What are your future plans? What is your dream design project?
Design is art, and art is subjective. For me there is nothing that can distinguish a designer practically. i would dare to say that the way a a designer express his feelings and of course how these feelings are presented in his creations maybe are possible reasons to distinguish him
What are your advices to designers who are at the beginning of their career?
i am not a specialist in this field , so i don t know what actually is a good design. i 'd stick only in the personal strength of expressing someone' s feelings on his creation.
You are truly successful as a designer, what do you suggest to fellow designers, artists and architects?
Design is art. Art moves the brains , the spirits, and the sentiments of the people towards future. We have history because we have art
What is your biggest design work?
B&o equipment. High handmade technology combined with simple and unique design. Perfect combination
Who is your favourite designer?
a great building structure inside and outside. Berghein club in Berlin. A 60s factory structure that can be a museum of modern art and a dancing club with perfect deep house music that stimulates all the sentiments of people.All in one
Would you tell us a bit about your lifestyle and culture?
Reading, travelling, thinking, fall in love, and most important: being simple keep low profile, and desire to learn are for me the best practises.
What are your philanthropic contributions to society as a designer, artist and architect?
Design is a creative idea , that is being expressed and manufactured with help of modern technology.
What positive experiences you had when you attend the A’ Design Award?
My subconscious , when i let it expressed after 9 years of cognitive psychotherapy
