Interview with Qin mingqian

Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
I am a college student in LuXun Academy of Fine Arts from China. When I was young, I’m interest in drawing. That’s the reason made me become a designer.
Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
We are a team.Everybody is uncommon.I’m proud to work with them.
What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
I like IKEA products.It’s hard to cite a single example.Because I think all of IKEA’s products are very simple,but very useful.
When do you feel the most creative?
At the beginning of design,there are nothing on paper,but they are in my brain.
From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
A product will be impress the environment in a long time.So I think we have responsibility to go without saying.
How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
I think ’The future of design’ means the design of products should be reckoned time’s change.
Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
I always found inspirations on Pinterest.The sources of inspirations is the nature.
Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
I live in China.China is a developing country.So there are many opportunities for designers.That’s good.
Can you talk a little about your design process?
I always design them step by step.First,I found the defect.Then,I solved it.
Can you describe a day in your life?
At the beginning of the day,I always have a cup of coffee.That’s enough.
From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?
Designer is an amazing job,that’s cool. Another aspect is difficult.
How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?
Well,it depends.Sometimes a few days to complete.Sometimes a few years.

Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator?
A junior, as an undergraduate students in The school of Industrial Design in LAFA since 2014.
How did you become a designer?
Because I like design,I hope my design can help more people and I want to be a famous designer.
Which emotions do you feel when designing?
I do some product design,I would like to design some small products.
What is your growth path? What are your future plans? What is your dream design project?
Great designers need higher quality works, at the same time, the design can also be emotional to work.
What are your advices to designers who are at the beginning of their career?
Very strict taste, coupled with the ability to achieve this taste.Good design is brief, bold and inspiring.
You are truly successful as a designer, what do you suggest to fellow designers, artists and architects?
Design is the common value of business and art.Good design can bring great economic benefits and meet people's needs.
How do you know if a product or project is well designed? How do you define good design?
Repeated attempts and repeated modifications,Success depends on hard work and a little bit of luck.
How do you decide if your design is ready?
My teacher gave me a lot of advice and gave me a lot of help in appearance and function.
What is your biggest design work?
I like the design of Eco cake box,Because it can save natural resources, reduce waste and can be divided into several parts.
Who is your favourite designer?
My conceptual design Tracer is my greatest design,It can reduce the space occupied by parking.
Would you tell us a bit about your lifestyle and culture?
Should try a variety of design.I try different aspects of design and repeatedly to think and modify.
What are your philanthropic contributions to society as a designer, artist and architect?
Design is communication,transmit.Design and life has been integrated, inseparable.
What positive experiences you had when you attend the A’ Design Award?
My family my teacher and my friends.The biggest supporter is my parents.
