First, I wanted to be an architecture!! . I could not Follow it. I read the field of information technology at the university. However, I was always interested in design and creation. One day I saw serial in TV about the life of a cloth designer and that was When I seriously thought to chang my way. I have been studying at a design Institute for about a year and six months, and I have not formally started professional work. Furthermore, I have not finished my courses too, but sometimes I sew.
What is "design" for you?
In my opinion, design is the connection between imagination with reality and technology
What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
In my country, the design of clothing needs to be more reviewed and upgraded. So any part can be appropriate for working . But I love evening and night dresses and classical styles, and I'm also interested in expand my national clothes to a modern and contemporary style
What was the first thing you designed for a company?
I have not finished the design course yet and I'm not working for any company. But my first professional design was for A’ Design Award
What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
I'm hand-embroidery cloth fan, whether modern or traditional. Of course, Luminous and digital clothes are also attractive to me, and I'd love to know more about it.
When do you feel the most creative?
Different nations, especially the East, give me a lot of ideas.
Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
What I mostly focus on is creativity, components fit, acceptance of the majority, retrieval of forgotten styles and fashion. And their collection together should be beautiful. Beauty is very important to me
What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
I design my feelings and changes which I like to see . Idea and creativity are the most attractive part of my work for me. They are worthy to me
What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
Well, it's very exciting for me that I turn my imagination to the reality or it will become reality one day. I become a little god who loves my children and I like to watch them for hours. Especially if they have a positive impact
What makes a design successful?
The first step is the goal and performance. Then, responsibility in all parts of the design and implementation to produce a quality product
When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
Purpose, performance, Innovation, Quality, Beauty, Usability/ Popularity in the community, Acceptance, Cost, Technology and Sustainable Fashion
From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
First, we must research about the needs and weaknesses of society. Or beyond those revive forgotten cultures or replace good designs with wrong cultures.then, it should be considered how it can be beneficial to the environment or at least not harm it
How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
clothing designers combine clothing with technology and IT, beyond the general needs of the society (the need for wearing) and its aesthetic aspect. Even with the help of the outfit, they come together with the society medical, scientific, environmental and etc.
Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
The environment, the galaxy, culture, history, architecture and ... are my inspirational sources. I try to strengthen my creativity by looking at them and research about them and following the trends.
How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
I already like the classic and artistic style. But since I'm a beginner I might change my mind. Life in the East has been very effective in choosing this style. Originality, a reminder of the history, glory and beauty is of the features of this style. this encourage me to choose this style.
Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
I live in Iran. one hundred percent. Especially that my work style was the implementation of my national dress. I was inspired by Iranian paintings, most of which belonged to the Safavi era. The greatest pros point to life in my country are ethnic and cultural diversity and ancient arts for an artist to inspire . But the biggest cons point is that fashion does not have a global meaning and consept and We are so far away of global standards.
What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
now, I do not have much experience that I can suggestion to companies. But A' Design Award can be a good interface between companies and designers
Can you talk a little about your design process?
Some designs are like a spark. Only that moment comes to my mind without thinking. But others need to think and research. Like the Iranian Sarv. I was influenced by the people of India and how they are expanding their national dress beautifully. I also liked to have our national clothes, the clothes that were forgotten. Part of the design belonged to my own feelings and some belonged to research on Persian dresses and paintings. then, I sketched it first, but some sections were added or deleted during the design. There was a special handmade on my clothes(Sermeh-Douzi) that was almost forgotten in Iran, that is, only use on decorations, not clothes. So, at the same time as the sewing of clothes, I passed the handmade class so I could do it. I did all the handmade on clothes and socks, myself, from idea to execution. The name of my design is Iranian Sarv, (Sarv is the name of the Iranian tree), which is also the symbole of Iran, and represents my green dress.
