John Dockins is the owner of Path Media, a digital agency based in the United States that specializes in web design, search engine optimization, and logo and brand design. Mr. Dockins enjoys the creative process and is driven by his strong desire to delight his clients. Passionate about giving back to the community, Path Media has a strong annual mission of providing pro bono work to those in need that range from non profit organizations to individuals who are just getting started. Mr. Dockins holds several certifications and two degrees, a Bachelors of Liberal Arts and a Masters in Business Administration.

Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
Path Media is a digital agency based on Ohio, USA and specializes in web design, SEO, and logo creation.
What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
I still enjoy the feel of my favorite pencil and notebook. Technology is used to help with overall speed but the basics of sketching is still done in my notebook.
When do you feel the most creative?
Anywhere I can have my pencil, notebook, and a good cup of coffee.
Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
I live in Ohio, USA. Much of my inspiration derives from the Midwest where I grew up.
How do you work with companies?
I approach all design work as a partnership. There must be a feeling of mutual respect and collaboration or the design will never be realized to its fullest potential. This means not all companies/clients are a good fit.
What is your "golden rule" in design?
Start with research that is not the same item you are designing. For instance, if you are creating a new logo based on coffee, do not research other coffee logos.
