Interview with Nishit Gupta

Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
I am a Product Designer, a recent graduate from ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California. I truly aspire to influence and create positive change in this world. I aim to help people and organizations to visualize a positive future and an uplifted lifestyle.
What kinds of works do you like designing most?
I am interested in designing for the future, innovation in wearable technology and consumer electronics.
When do you feel the most creative?
My creative neurons are sparking most when I participate in a healthy lifestyle of meditation, eating good and exercising on a regular basis.
Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
Finding human-centered insights using qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
The best inspiration comes from well researched and defined insights and opportunities.
What is your "golden rule" in design?
1. Story and Value are always greater than the product itself. 2. Empathy is the key to solving a design problem. 3. Be a sponge - Learn every day, from everyone.
How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?
There is always room for improvement, a design is never complete.
