Although I am the owner of the studio, I am still actively involved in many of the design processes and projects. With seven years of experience in design, I provide experience in concept, graphics, industrial, product, packaging and 3d visualization design. I thoroughly enjoy being a hands-on owner, that can share the excitement and challenges with my colleagues.

Interview with Gilad Tal

Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
My design background started 12 years ago when i was working in a pet shop and i was amazed from the luck of quality and aesthetics this industry have, so i learned my self Sketchup, amateurish designed a set of pet beds, I flew to China and returned with two container full of pet beds, it toke another two years after that but than i had the understanding that product design is my main passion and work.
Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
Bago Studio is a product design studio, which is specialized in innovative product design and development. We are a design firm that provides A-Z services, from initial concepts to the final CAD and DFM for manufacture. We also support our clients with brand and marketing materials, graphics, and packaging design.
What is "design" for you?
Design is everything for me, i see and track it in anywhere i go, this is my main passion of life and career.
What kinds of works do you like designing most?
Products with wheels like bikes, scooters and hover boards cars and more.
What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
It's the current Bimby, this project is a design that serves my designing skills, taste and style in the way i want to show my design segments and language.
Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
I always prefer to start with the aesthetics that will guide the further process, aesthetics is my main focus.
What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
Proud, thrilled and joyful, every realize make me more and more happy and satisfied.
What makes a design successful?
Fresh and outstanding by all matters, original and surprising aesthetics and innovative functionality.
From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
A designer need to be responsible to learn and explore about Technics and materials that could better sustain the society and environment.
How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
It's an endless tour, creativity stretches the boundaries day after day, i can't imagine what will be in the future.
Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
My eyes are always wide open, i am getting my inspiration almost from anything at any time, i am not a trend follower but i can spend hours on the internet exploring new and creativity designs.
How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
I can describe my design style as clean, minimalist and modern, it's just my nature of taste, i don't have specific approach, every project have his own case and process.
Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
I live in Israel and it's really helps that i am surrounded with a lot of creative minds, but i think that wherever you are placed you should take one step out from the tribe to find a way to bring your originality.
How do you work with companies?
Most of the companies i am working with are under project contracts, i also have retainer and royalty contracts.
Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
Don't be part of the tribe, try to explore different places and things to get your originality.
From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?
It's all positive, interesting and creative way of life that opens you to many aspects from day to day.
What skills are most important for a designer?
Endless creativity, communication by all the aspects of sketching, renders, 3d and personal relationship.
Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?
My main design tool is a 3d software, i find myself much more creative over 3d modeling and sculpting than hand sketches.
Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
I am developing my designs by myself with a team of professional contractors from many fields and areas.
