Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
My company is located in Taipei, Taiwan, and I also have a branch in Vietnam
Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
I am more concerned about the interaction between people and space
What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
It ’s complicated, sometimes I am happy, but sometimes I feel anxious
What makes a design successful?
I think the definition of success should be to give a new life to the space, and the people in the space are happy
From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
Designers should use their own ability to coordinate everything, whether it ’s the environment or the people
How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
What can change the world and make the world a better place has always been design, has n’t it?
How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
I found a place in the space that can echo the environment, this is probably my design style
Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
Designers in Taiwan are actually not an easy industry. Taiwan is a small country, but there are a lot of design talents going international. I think the reason for this part is probably that the market is too small, and I am also very proud. Taiwan has many Excellent design talent
How do you work with companies?
In the company we will discuss the development possibilities of the design case together
What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
I think the attitude of work is much more important than talent. Only by conscientiously and paying attention to each design case can we make a good design.
Can you talk a little about your design process?
When I am quietly designing, the surrounding environment must be very quiet, which helps me think.
From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?
On the positive side, always come up with fresh solutions, but you have to sleep later than the average person
What skills are most important for a designer?
Anything that can express your thoughts and let others know is a good way
What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?
Design works by the sea or by the lake, maybe I like the vastness of the sea, it always makes me feel relaxed
What are your future plans? What is next for you?
In the future plan, I hope to actively develop the Vietnamese market
Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
Usually I will judge how much manpower is needed according to the type or size of the case
