The founder director and in-house producer of Atiksh Entertainment Pvt Ltd, an internationally recognized & multi award winning company, Shilpa has bachelors & masters in information technology. She is also an accredited Nutrition Consultant & Yoga Practitioner. She has education, exposure, experience and an acute sense in fashion, which enabled the company to start new brands ‘Squacle’ and ‘Style Shrankhla’.

Interview with Shilpa Sharma

Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
I have masters in information technology and co-founded an entertainment company, along with my spouse. I am also an accredited Nutrition Consultant & Yoga Practitioner but I believe design comes to me naturally and that belief started my career as a designer.
Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
My brands are 'SQUACLE', an activewear / swimwear range, and 'Style Shrankhla', an ethnic women-wear range, both under the parent company 'Atiksh Entertainment Pvt Ltd'
What is "design" for you?
To believe that you can create and then thinking how to create is design for me.
What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
The dress that just won the A Design Award, the metallic dual dress with wrap on is my favorite design.
How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
Digital space will be more congested but physical space will always have the upper hand; You can't beat what you can see and feel
Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
I live in India; Yes, our culture heritage is close to infinity and that has definitely helped me in being what I am; There are no cons to live in a beautiful country like India.
How do you work with companies?
We work with them for multiple business solutions in entertainment, media consulting and fashion requirements.
