Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
Amr Ibrahim Mousa is an award-winning multidisciplinary designer, architect, and visual artist based in Milan, Italy. Amr received his double bachelor's degree in "Architecture Engineering" from Greenwich University, the UK, and Modern Science and Arts University, Egypt. and a master's degree in "Architecture and Urban Design" from Politecnico Di Milano.
Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
MOUSA studio is an award-winning multidisciplinary design studio specialized in creating innovative, iconic, and memorable designs of architecture, interiors, brand identity, and product design. Founded by Amr Ibrahim Mousa.
What is "design" for you?
Everything. Everything is designed. From architecture to logos. and designers have a direct impact on society.
What kinds of works do you like designing most?
I like being a design generalist, which has made me a more confident and adaptable designer. I don't mind working on any project.
Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
To create the most suitable design solution with the highest consideration of its function and aesthetic values to give it the possibility of becoming timeless.

From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
Everything. Everything is designed. From architecture to logos. and designers have a direct impact on society.
How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
I don't have one vision or one style. There’s no optimum solution in design but to reach excellence you have to come very flexible.
Can you talk a little about your design process?
I don't have one process, but it always starts with reading and understanding.
What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?
My desk, lighting, sofa, bookshelf, and an A' design award trophy.
From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?
Constant learning is one of the positives and subjectivity is one of the negatives.
What is your "golden rule" in design?
The desire to create something with lasting value is what I'm trying to do in every design project.

Architecture firms, advertising agencies, and individual professionals.
What are your future plans? What is next for you?
I like being a design generalist, which has made me a more confident and adaptable designer. I don't mind working on any project.

Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator?
Amr Ibrahim Mousa is an award-winning multidisciplinary designer, architect, and visual artist based in Milan, Italy. I worked on a wide range of projects across different design disciplines worldwide, including architecture, brand identity, and product design. I run my own design business under the name of MOUSA studio.
How did you become a designer?
I've always found myself interested in creating. If not design and architecture, I would be in the film industry, music, or even literature. The idea itself of making and creating something has always been my biggest passion. That's how I became a designer.
What are your priorities, technique and style when designing?
I don't have one vision or one style. There’s no optimum solution in design but to reach excellence you have to come very flexible. I use all kinds of software as long as it helps me create my idea.
What particular aspects of your background shaped you as a designer?
I like the challenges. I like to create. but when it comes to my designs; I like how they give experiences and feelings to people while seeing or interacting with one of my designs. I like the impact, that impact.
What is your growth path? What are your future plans? What is your dream design project?
I like being a design generalist, which has made me a more confident and adaptable designer. Every design project is a new challenge that has its unique characteristics and requirements. Every new project has the opportunity to be my best design project, so I don't think I will stop. and I'll always work in every design discipline.
You are truly successful as a designer, what do you suggest to fellow designers, artists and architects?
To create the most suitable design solution with the highest consideration of its function and aesthetic values to give it the possibility of becoming timeless.
How do you decide if your design is ready?
There’s no optimum solution in design but to reach excellence you have to come very flexible and have the sense to decide you have finished improving.
Would you tell us a bit about your lifestyle and culture?
Being an Egyptian with all this rich history has helped me a lot. I listen to all types of music. I live now in Milan, Italy. I like blue and black. and I love football.
Would you tell us more about your work culture and business philosophy?
I believe in a hierarchical work environment. and we can consider that also co-design.
What are your philanthropic contributions to society as a designer, artist and architect?
Everything. Everything is designed. From architecture to logos. and designers have a direct impact on society.
