About Let Parents Stay Font Lasă Părinții Să Rămână

Lasă Părinții Să Rămână este un font bazat pe broderia tradițională Han, creat pentru a sprijini un sat sărăcit. Satul Jinling găzduiește peste două mii de copii lăsați în urmă de părinții plecați la muncă, iar mulți dintre locuitori sunt pricepuți în broderia Han. Produsele locale de broderie se vindeau slab, deoarece modelele se schimbaseră puțin în ultima sută de ani. Elementele clasice de broderie au fost abstractizate și reconstruite în forme de litere moderne, pe care brodezele locale le cos manual. Scopul este de a genera venituri și de a transmite mai departe meșteșugul printr-un limbaj vizual modern.

Unique Properties: Jinling Village is a poverty-stricken village with More than 2,000 “left-behind” children. When the designer got there, he was surprised to find that all the local people had mastered certain Han Embroidery skills, but their product not sell well because of the old fashion style. So he worked with the Hubei Han Embroidery Association to help revive the local Han Embroidery culture.

Design Challenge: Here is a breakdown of several classic elements from traditional Chinese embroidery patterns. They are abstracted according to modern aesthetics, to reconstruct classic elements, bring out the culture hidden behind the patterns, to master the unchangeable pattern combinations of traditional Chinese embroidery, and produce a brand-new visual language. Creating a typeface composed of extracted Han Embroidery elements and ask the local poverty-stricken embroidery workers to embroider the letters of this font through the techniques of Han Embroidery.
Research: Like most handicrafts, Han embroidery has several problems, for example, a long production cycle, a long time cost, low economic benefit, and poor quality. Also, the traditional Han Embroidery patterns have undergone little to no innovation over the past hundred years, so they can’t meet standards of the modern aesthetic, resulting in low consumer recognition.
Inspiration: In addition to two years of commercial operations, the designer has created a modern typeface, on a trial basis, by extracting the elements of traditional embroidery, deconstructing their texture, and the traditional Jing-Chu Culture, he promoted the inheritance of the old embroidery on the verge of extinction in a modern aesthetic manner, Inheriting tradition and carry on this embroidery craft that is on the verge of extinction by a new typeface, so as to pass down the craft in a modern language.
