About Long Time Saacadda Derbiga
Saacadda Long Time waxay ilhaamo ka heshay farshaxanka soo jiitada leh ee kirigami, hab dhaqameed Jabbaani ah oo si qurux badan u isku dara laalaabida iyo jarida warqadda. Sida kirigami oo kale, saacaddan waa isku-dhafka farshaxanka iyo shaqada wax ku oolka ah. Habka jarida iyo laalaabida wuxuu suurtagalinayaa abuurista tirooyinka Roomaanka ee dhinacyada saacadda. Natiijada ahaan, tirooyinku waxay u muuqdaan inay ka soo baxayaan xariijada birta, abuuraya ciyaar meelaha muuqda iyo meelaha maqan. Waxaa laga sameeyay xariijad aluminium ah oo laser lagu jaray, saacadda waxaa si waara loo naqshaddeeyay si loo yareeyo qashinka agabka.

Behind the Design

Credits, team members and technical details provided by the designer.
- Unique Properties
- The clock is made from a single narrow strip of metal. The cutting and folding technique allows for the creation of Roman numerals on the clock's sides. As a result, the numerals themselves seem to leap out of the metal strip, creating a play of positive and negative areas. The clock is positioned 5 cm away from the wall and appears to be floating.
- Dimensions & Packaging
- Size: 96.5X17X5 cm / 38X6.7X2 Inches

- Production Technology
- Made from a high-quality, laser-cut strip of aluminum, the clock has been sustainably designed to minimize material waste.
- Design Challenge
- Balancing the artistic aspect of kirigami with the functional requirements of a clock was tricky. Designing Roman numerals that can be cut and folded effectively from the aluminum strip while remaining visually appealing and easily readable poses a creative challenge.
- Research
- The study centered on the design aspects of the product, incorporating the development of numerous paper models and layouts. This entailed the analysis of dimensions, proportions, fonts, and the structural integrity of the forthcoming clock. The investigation resulted in the choice of Roman numerals 3 and 9 as the central design elements, chosen for their symmetry, which enabled the application of the Kirigami effect.
- Inspiration
- The clock was inspired by kirigami, the Japanese art of folding and cutting paper. In kirigami, paper is both folded and cut, resulting in a three-dimensional design that stands out from the page.
- Project Duration
- March 2020 - July 2020 Studio Wallaby, Yoqneam-Ilit, Israel
- Operation Flow
- The clock arrives ready to use and can be hung on the wall with two screws.
