Hongqi E-HS9 je potpuno električno sportsko-terensko vozilo. Eksterijer sledi dizajnerski jezik pod nazivom Shang Zhi Yi. Amblem zastave je ugrađen u uspravnu prednju masku u obliku vodopada, što automobilu daje jasan porodični identitet. Hromirani ukrasi oko C i D stubova inspirisani su kineskim klasičnim totemom prstenaste ribe, a u ukrase su ugrađene indikatorske lampice punjenja.
