Det finns mycket litteratur om möbler i Kroatien, men mycket av den är inriktad på professionell publik. Med boken Om möbler var syftet att skapa en heltäckande handbok som fungerar som en värdefull resurs för både studenter och experter. Den här handboken kommer att ge grundläggande, men ändå relevant information om möblernas historia, kategorisering och framstående designers, vilket gör den till ett ofta refererat verktyg för dem som söker en grundläggande förståelse av ämnet. Alla teckningar är gjorda för hand av Diana Sokolic.

Produktionsteknik: There were more than 300 drawings made by professional artist Diana Sokolic, but only 140 are used in the book in order to make it simple, short, and informative. Huge research was undertaken to present basic and relevant information about characteristics of the furniture history styles, authors and their works.
Designutmaning: Finding relevant information about women designers was the most challenging part of the research. Their work and lives are hidden under the names of factories or architects and their studios, especially in Croatia, where educated women designers worked for a monthly pay designing brilliant pieces under the name of the factory they worked for.
Forskning: Researching for the book was long and it took over 7 months since the goal was to give the most important information about the history of furniture and most relevant authors, especially highlighting the work of female authors who were working in big corporations or studios, anonymously until today.
Inspiration: There are many books about furniture in Croatia, but most of them are written for professional use. The idea was to fill the gap by making a handbook with the basic information, a book for students as well as scholars; the book that will be used often to get the first but relevant information about the history, types, or authors of furniture.
Projektlängd: This project started in Zagreb, Croatia, during Covid-19 lockdown time - the ideal time for studying and writing the book in peace. It was finished the same year, but, due to import and printing problems caused by Covid-19 and the war in Ukraine - publishing was delayed until the end of 2022.
The book was published with the support of the Croatian Ministry of Culture.
