About Afterimages Magazine

Ang konsepto ng graphic na disenyo at visual na komunikasyon para sa Afterimages art magazine ay magkakaugnay: mula sa logo, pagkakakilanlan hanggang sa layout. Ang pangunahing layunin ng proyekto ay upang harapin ang legacy ng Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts sa Lodz at lumikha ng isang modernong bersyon nito na nagmumula sa tradisyon ng avant-garde. Magaspang na kalidad ng papel, dry-stamping technique, ang kulay ng pag-print (Pantone) na inilapat sa pabalat, ay tumutugma sa paksa ng bawat isyu. Ang magazine ay may masaganang paglalarawan, puno ng mga de-kalidad na larawan, at sa bagay na ito ay kahawig ito ng magazine sa istilo ng buhay.

Ang Afterimages Magazine ay nagwagi ng A' Design Award na Pilak, isang pambihirang prestihiyosong pagkilalang iginagawad sa mga disenyong nasa pinakamataas na antas, nakabibighani at kahanga-hanga. Ang mga nagwagi ng Pilak ay mga likhang lubhang makinang at napakamalikhain na naglalarawan sa pambihirang kadalubhasaan, talento at talas ng isip ng kanilang mga tagapagdisenyo. Inaasahang ang Afterimages Magazine ay isang kahanga-hangang likhang huwaran na kapansin-pansing propesyonal at malalim na makabago. Ang disenyong ito na nagwagi ng A' Design Award na Pilak ay isang lubhang kapansin-pansin at hinahangaang imbensyon na nakikinabang at nagpapaunlad sa mga hangganan ng sining, agham, disenyo at teknolohiya. Ang Afterimages Magazine ay isang likhang labis na kinaiinggitan na gumigising ng mga hangarin, nagdadala ng positibong damdamin at nagpapasiklab ng pagkamangha at pagkabighani.

Unique Properties: Bigger format, rough high quality paper from the 'csm' collection, dry-stamping technique, the printing color (Pantone) applied to the cover corresponds to the topic of each issue. The magazine is richly illustrated, filled with high-quality photos, and in this respect it resembles life style magazines. It is the first printed magazine published by the Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz and it is available not only for students and teaches, it is distributed nationwide.

Design Challenge: The challenge was to create a design of the magazine, on the one hand, referring to the avant-garde tradition, and on the other, creating its modern, fresh version. It was a challenge to reach interested recipients, create a platform and a community around the magazine and create a magazine with premium design, content and paper on a limited budget and with a small team.
Research: The artistic and scientific, thematic magazine Powidoki (Afterimages) is published by the Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz (Poland). The periodical is devoted to significant artistic and scientific events. It contains critical texts about art and design as well as interviews with prominent figures of the world of culture and higher education from Poland and abroad.
Inspiration: The inspiration of the project was the heritage of the Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts Lodz and their great artists: Strzeminski, Kobro, Hiller, the avangarde, which was established over one hundred years ago. An afterimage is an image that continues to appear in the eyes after a period of exposure to the original image. Our brain produces it when we stare at something for a long time. This image is not as obvious as it seems at first glance. It is blurred and not clear.
Project Duration: The first issue of the magazine was created and published in 2019. By mid-2021 it has been published five issues of 'Afterimages' (two issues per year). Place of the creation of the magazine: Lodz, Poland.
Operation Flow: Interaction with the magazine: high quality print and paper, stamping can be felt under your finger, qr codes.
