About BioStu Product Promo
BioStu is a promotional video created to present a learning device for children at school. The video introduces the BioStu device, which supports the study of earth sciences. Each scene presents one feature, such as watching plants grow, observing insects and following natural processes. Further scenes show video and time-lapse recording, control of light intensity and the reading of values such as temperature. Smooth transitions connect the scenes. Soft lighting and natural elements give the video a calm tone.

- Operation Flow
- The purpose of this video is to show how BioStu device can be used. Each scene is a separate feature, and I tryed to achive smooth transition from one to other, to make viewer feel we're talking about same thing all the time and keep the line. I wanted all scenes to look alive, so they all include elements corresponding to that. The light setup was also important for this, I used GI everywhere to achieve soft shadows which looks more natural. It's not hard to achieve technically, but way longer to calculate. Anyway this is what we needed for this purpose.
- Inspiration
- Based on the purpose, I wanted this video to be calm and mild. With a very suddle feel of mystery, as I think studying means a journey and discovery.
Keeping in mind this device should help in searching earth science, I included related elements to each scene: plants, rocks etc.
The original version for my client also included female VO, but to me it works better with just music, so this is what I keep for my portfolio.
