About Boundless Symbiosis Condominium Public Areas
Boundless Symbiosis is an interior design for the shared public areas of a residential building in Taichung. The project covers about 624 square meters. Bamboo Green marble from the exterior facade is extended into the lobby, and a double height frame with clear glass opens the interior toward the street and the nearby parks. On the second floor, structural columns are clad in mirrored stainless steel, so the concrete structure appears lighter. A book gallery and an island style seating layout support quiet reading and shared conversation.
Urbane Design's Boundless Symbiosis Condominium Public Areas exemplifies the contemporary evolution of residential threshold design, where the traditional lobby transcends its functional origins to become a curated spatial experience mediating between urban exterior and domestic interior realms. The installation demonstrates sophisticated understanding of material hierarchies, deploying a carefully calibrated palette ranging from cool dove-gray marble at the reception plinth through warm walnut shelving systems to sage-green terrazzo vertical supports, each element contributing to an atmospheric progression that simultaneously welcomes and impresses. Technical accomplishment manifests in the precision joinery of the shelving system, where horizontal bands appear to float between stone mullions, while linear LED integration at multiple registers creates luminous boundaries that define spatial zones without physical barriers. The chromatic strategy operates through complementary warm-cool tensions, amber artificial light sources engaging with cool natural daylight penetrating from the garden facade, establishing temporal awareness as exterior conditions modulate interior atmosphere throughout diurnal cycles. Particularly noteworthy passages include the reflection of ceiling geometry in the polished floor surface, effectively doubling vertical perception and creating a sense of expansive aspiration within what remains an intimate human-scaled environment. The shelving display follows principles of asymmetrical balance with curated objects including ceramic vessels and botanical elements positioned to create visual rhythm across the horizontal expanse, suggesting the care of personal collection rather than commercial display. Thematically the work appears to explore contemporary interpretations of traditional Eastern spatial philosophies, where transparency, material honesty, and connection to natural elements create environments supporting contemplative dwelling. The viewer might consider how such threshold spaces shape daily experience of arrival and departure, and what qualities of material and light most effectively communicate welcome and belonging in contemporary residential contexts.

- Production Technology
- To dissolve the boundary between internal and external, the lobby design continues the ethos of understated luxury of building, extending the Bamboo Green marble from the exterior facade into the interior space. Drawing from the Eastern art of borrowing scenery, the interior unfolds through a dual height frame, a living canvas that layers vision into poetry. Clear glass breathes with the seasons, gathering street whispers and garden hues into the room, stretching space into a soft, expansive dream.
- Design Challenge
- In Social Archipelago space, rigid seating gives way to an island-hopping layout, where ergonomic furnishings drift like tranquil isles in an open expanse. This fluid arrangement returns freedom to the form, allowing the space to breathe and adapt, equally welcoming to solitary reflection or shared conversation. A sunken topography gently lowers the sightline, dissolving visual barriers and drawing occupants deeper into the landscape.
- Project Duration
- Boundless Symbiosis project locate in the Section 2, Dunhua Road, Beitun District of Taichung. This project is scheduled for completion in April 2025.
- Operation Flow
- On the ground floor, the flow of movement is conceived with poetic restraint, framing street scenes and gardens like living paintings brought softly indoors. Residents are invited to wander with a gentle curiosity, tracing a path that unveils each corner of space as a quiet discovery. The spatial atmosphere of second floor shifts toward a tone of humanistic intellect.
- Research
- The design concept of the second-floor circulating book gallery centers on dematerialization. By cladding structural columns with high-precision mirrored stainless steel instead of concealing them with decorative wood, the heaviness of the concrete structure is visually dissolved. These visual barriers are transformed into reflective surfaces, ingeniously merging the natural ambiance with the architectural space.
- Inspiration
- With humanity at its heart, this design threads together structure, earth, and time. Boundless Symbiosis borrows from the ancient art of the Eastern garden, where scenery is lent, and views are framed, then stirs in whispers of dematerialization and organic growth. Indoor halls and outdoor gardens blur like ink meeting water, initiating a poetic dialogue between urban density and wild grace. The result is a spiritual sanctuary where structures recede and nature reclaims the center stage.
