About Guo Cui Wu Du Chinese Baijiu

This white spirit product, named Guocui Wudu, is from Henan Province, China. The liquor is made from five traditional Chinese medicinal materials that are soaked and brewed. On the market, competitive products more or less contain some dregs left during the brewing process. By contrast, the biggest selling point of this product is that through multiple processes, the purity of the liquor approximates a zero-impurity state, which gives consumers a stronger sense of security. Therefore, designers determined "cleanliness" as the keynote of package design to manifest the biggest feature.

Emerging from a rich tradition of artisanal craft and cultural heritage, this packaging design exemplifies the contemporary reimagining of ceremonial presentation through the lens of refined material expression and sophisticated visual narrative. The designer appears to engage with the venerable custom of gift-giving and ritualized consumption, elevating the experience through meticulous attention to tactile and visual poetry. The outer vessel's textured white surface suggests handmade paper traditions while the precisely executed die-cut window reveals an extraordinary graphite illustration that transforms the package into a cabinet of natural wonders, each creature and botanical specimen rendered with the devotional attention of Enlightenment-era scientific illustrators yet suffused with romantic atmosphere. The cerulean glass vessel within embodies the essence of precious containment, its elongated teardrop form suggesting both natural water droplets and classical ceramic proportions, while the chromatic depth evokes associations with twilight skies, deep waters, and treasured gemstones. The pale wood stopper and terracotta cord introduce organic warmth that bridges the cool sophistication of glass and paper, suggesting connection to earth and tradition. The suspended tag, bearing elegant calligraphic notation, functions as both practical identifier and symbolic invitation, a threshold marker between ordinary commerce and elevated experience. One might observe how the juxtaposition of densely illustrated surface against pristine minimal form creates productive tension between abundance and restraint, between the teeming natural world and human refinement of natural materials. The work invites contemplation of the relationship between container and contained, exterior narrative and interior essence, visual feast and eventual sensory experience. What meanings emerge when we consider the journey from illustrated ecosystem to distilled spirit, from natural complexity to refined clarity?

Production Technology
To give the feeling of cleanliness, a blue transparent glass bottle is designed as the container; and the label printed with the product name is separately displayed by being hanged on the bottle cap.
Design Challenge
The most difficult point is that designer hope to keep the simplicity and transparency of the bottle as much as possible. Finally, designer creatively put the product name and other information on the bottle cap.
Project Duration
The project started in June 2018 in ShenZhen and finished in August 2020 in ShenZhen.
Operation Flow
First create a good concept, then draw the drawings, select the best scheme, and then design and make. After the design scheme is established, it is proofing. The proofing link has gone through three times, and finally runs in to produce high-quality products.
Research
Designer find that Chinese Baijiu is criticized for its design, which is very rustic and backward. At the same time, traditional Chinese medicine also suffered the same treatment, so when designer
were asked to do packaging design for such a Baijiu with both factors, designer hoped to break people's inherent cognition of these two factors and let people enjoy a different Oriental beauty.
Inspiration
Ancient oriental philosophy and aesthetics. And some Chinese martial arts novels have brought us inspiration.Designer will find that the final appearance confirms what designer said.
