About Land of Abundance Sales Center
Land of Abundance is a sales center located in Chengdu City, Sichuan. The interior covers 1200 square meters and was completed in July 2019. The design applies Oriental aesthetics through a contemporary design language. A transparent and light door marks the entrance and sets the character of the whole space. The sand table area is open and wide, and warm smooth lines flow through the space. A large lamp named Beyond the Clouds is placed above the sand table and gives visitors an artistic and interactive experience.
Tina Sheng's Land of Abundance Sales Center exemplifies a contemporary approach to commercial interior design that transcends conventional retail aesthetics, positioning the space within traditions of contemplative architecture that emphasize material authenticity, spatial sequence, and sensory engagement. The composition reveals sophisticated understanding of threshold psychology, framing the visitor's experience through carefully orchestrated material transitions—from the warm enveloping embrace of terracotta-toned ceiling slats to the grounding presence of raked gravel beneath a ceremonial vessel. The suspended sculptural installation, with its cascading arrangement of metallic elements, introduces kinetic potential and vertical aspiration into an otherwise horizontally organized spatial field, suggesting themes of abundance, natural dispersal, and cyclical renewal. Technical accomplishment emerges through the precise calibration of natural light, which the designer appears to have choreographed deliberately to create dramatic diagonal shadow patterns that animate otherwise static surfaces, introducing temporal dimension and ephemeral beauty into the permanent architectural framework. The material palette demonstrates restraint and intentionality: warm wood tones establishing human scale and tactile warmth, cool stone surfaces providing visual rest and spatial depth, and the dark ceramic vessel anchoring the composition with ceremonial gravitas. One might observe references to traditional garden design philosophies in the raked gravel treatment, where meditative pattern-making transforms functional ground covering into contemplative artifact. The interplay between solid architectural boundaries and the ethereal floating sculpture suggests dialogue between earthbound permanence and transcendent aspiration, between commercial function and spiritual resonance. What does this threshold between exterior arrival and interior discovery invite the visitor to leave behind, and what state of receptivity does it cultivate for encounters yet to unfold within?

It is a kind of artistic conception to express the emotion by describing things, and it is a kind of emotional conception to take advantage of a scene to express the emotion. When this natural poetry is integrated into the space shape, it is like a poem that has the power to shock people.

- We hope that concise modern design can add connotation of time to the elegant Oriental style, so as to create a clear, transparent, ethereal, and poetic freedom that that the body and mind can be immersed in the wonderful moment and deeply resonate with it.
The negotiation area borrows the charm of the landscape in Sichuan. Taking time and space as the link, it employs modern Oriental design language in depicting the softness and clarity, and constructs the whole space with modern fashion elements, creating an Oriental context to explore the cultural connotation unable to be copied. - Project Duration

- Operation Flow
- Based on the logic of Oriental aesthetics, the architect ponders contemporary design language, that is, more modern, more fashionable, more artistic, and more poetic Oriental language.
The entrance, as the starting point of the artistic conception of the whole space, defines the temperament of the whole interior space. A transparent and lightsome door combines the unique poetry and art here, opening a poetic journey about historical inheritance, exquisite skills, and unique creativity for visitors. - Research
- As the poem Yunshuiyao goes, “Moving over the water, and along the landscape, I am calm and relaxed watching the scenery on the bank, the bamboo raft drifted gently with the wind.” On the pulsating Jian River, the peonies are in full bloom. “Perchance I come near where a rill would disappear, then I'll sit and watch clouds rise in that clime.” The poetic vitality of human and nature represented by Oriental art is present at this moment.
- Inspiration
- In the architects memory, Sichuan is a place with picturesque scenery of green hills and clear waters. Multiple cultures influence and permeate each other here, at the same time, she firmly continues her unique cultural heritage. As the poems say, Pengzhou, which has the reputation of little Chengdu, is a wonder of the world, the heart of Sichuan, and the origin of Taoism. Fairy land is a true portrayal of this thousand year old city.
