About Le Ble D'or Restaurant
Le Ble D'or is a restaurant and bar interior in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, completed in May 2016. The design follows a nostalgic industrial theme. Recycled iron pieces are joined with wood veneer, and the joining angles and colors were adjusted repeatedly to create varied visual effects from the same materials. Mottled beer bottle walls and a large false window bring an image of continuous oxidation into the interior. Dark materials and careful color use capture subtle changes of light and shadow. The layout aims to create a strong sense of time and a close link between the space and its visitors.
This distinguished hospitality interior exemplifies the contemporary synthesis of industrial heritage vocabulary with refined dining atmospherics, positioning itself within the broader movement of design approaches that celebrate material authenticity and honest construction while delivering sophisticated spatial experiences. The designer demonstrates accomplished command of perspectival composition, employing a central axis that draws visitors into the space with cinematic inevitability while flanking elements create balanced lateral presence. The chromatic strategy reveals particular sensitivity, deploying a carefully calibrated warm palette that moves through registers of amber, cognac, sienna, and bronze to establish an environment of enveloping warmth without sacrificing visual interest or spatial definition. Technical merit manifests throughout the execution: the bar counter's integration of richly finished wood surfaces with deliberately patinated metal bases creates dialogue between refinement and rawness, while the tufted leather banquettes introduce craft tradition within an industrial framework. The exposed ceiling infrastructure transforms potential liability into celebrated feature, with pipe systems and conduits becoming ornamental elements whose brass-adjacent tones integrate harmoniously with the overall chromatic scheme. String lighting serves dual function as practical illumination and decorative element, its linear arrangement reinforcing spatial depth while its warm incandescent quality contributes to the honeyed atmosphere. The geometric floor pattern introduces angular counterpoint to predominantly horizontal and vertical spatial rhythms, preventing visual monotony in the elongated format. Wall treatments featuring silhouetted forms create textural interest while mirrors strategically multiply spatial perception and animate light throughout the interior. This work invites contemplation of how contemporary design might honor industrial heritage while crafting spaces of genuine warmth and hospitality, and viewers might consider how material honesty and atmospheric refinement achieve synthesis in service of human gathering and conviviality.

- Unique Properties
- After several communications and coordination, the design team utilized recycled iron pieces to implement the visual effects filled with the sense of time, and has particularly placed emphasis on joining the two parts of recycled iron pieces and veneer, hoping to create different visual effect and state with the same elements, therefore repeatedly adjusted the joining angles and colors. The mottled beer bottle walls, recycled iron pieces, joining visual effects of veneer, large fake window guiding in the image of continuous oxidation to the indoor space resemble twisted space and time, giving one the illusion of traveling through space and time upon entering.
