About Qube Shanghai Hotel
Qube Shanghai is a hotel interior design located in the Jiading District of Shanghai, close to the Hongqiao transport hub. The design takes the memory of Jiangqiao as its theme and links local history with modern art. A bridge is the main idea of the lobby, shown through bridge-shaped columns, open space and water textures on the floor. A high corridor inspired by a rice bucket is finished in orange. Tall bookshelves are placed among the reception seats. The hotel covers 31000 square meters and includes a banquet hall and five meeting rooms.

- Production Technology
- The high corridor of the lobby is designed from the inspiration of a rice bucket. As rice bucket hints a good harvest, it is expressed in the fashionable and tensile orange color. The bottom of the bucket is opened in the form of a window, through which people have a panoramic view of the scenes of a small bridge, flowing water, full of reveries of infinite memories. The towering art bookshelves are staggered with the reception seats to make a more diversified space. The reception desk under the bridge follows the beauty of Chinese symmetry, and the shiny surface attracts customers.
- Design Challenge
- The lobby is only 6 meters high, the space is very narrow and long, the experience is not good. How to use design techniques in the narrow space to increase the quality of space experience is a series of greater difficulties and challenges.
- Project Duration
- The project started in February 2015 in Shanghai and finished in September 2019 in North Hongqiao Shanghai.
- Operation Flow
- The hotel has a 600-square-meter multi-functional banquet hall and 5 small and medium-sized conference rooms, which can meet the needs for various activities and bring diverse experiences to customers according to distinct themes. The Chinese food area is designed under the concept of characteristic courtyards in the south of the Yangtze River. It separates the space with folding screens.
- Inspiration
- The hotel takes "Jiangqiao memory" as the thematic concept, and integrates the unique Jiangqiao cultural charm with the modern fashion art, to give customers an unprecedented experience. "Bridge" is the main conceptual clue of the hotel lobby. The bridge-structured columns, large scale empty space, and water texture changes reflected from the ground to simulate the water surface, have fully embodied the prosperous life culture scene of Jiangqiao in the ancient times.
