About Seasky Feast Restaurant

Seasky Feast is a restaurant interior in China with a total area of 2,700 square meters. The layout includes multi-zone dining areas, an open kitchen, and interactive light installations. Micro cement forms a seamless base, light water concrete boards add textural depth, and stainless steel gives a futuristic character. Integrated LED lighting and custom neon installations provide layered illumination, while greenery adds a natural contrast. A modular grid allows flexible reconfiguration and efficient maintenance.

Seasky Feast Restaurant by Guo Lishen exemplifies a distinguished contemporary approach to hospitality interior design that thoughtfully integrates biophilic principles with refined material sensibilities, creating an environment where the boundaries between architecture, landscape, and culinary experience dissolve into a unified atmospheric proposition. The work demonstrates considerable achievement in its manipulation of ceiling plane as both functional necessity and sculptural gesture, with the organic bronze-finished canopy forms suggesting natural phenomena such as cloud formations, geological strata, or the undulating surfaces of wind-shaped dunes, thereby establishing an immediate dialogue between the constructed interior and elemental natural forces. The technical accomplishment evident in the seamless integration of linear LED elements along the perimeters of these floating forms reveals sophisticated coordination between architectural ambition and lighting design execution, creating halos of warm illumination that appear to emanate from within the forms themselves rather than being applied as afterthought. The central garden island functions as both spatial anchor and symbolic heart, its composition of flowering tree, volcanic stones, and living moss invoking traditional garden design principles while translating them into a contemporary hospitality context with restraint and precision. The chromatic strategy demonstrates mature understanding of how warm earth tones establish comfort and intimacy while strategic cool accents, particularly the aquarium's cerulean glow, provide visual relief and spatial interest that prevents monotony within the predominantly amber palette. This interior environment invites contemplation of how designed spaces might nurture human wellbeing through careful attention to natural materials, living elements, and atmospheric lighting that together create conditions for meaningful gathering and the rituals of shared sustenance.

Production Technology
The project utilizes micro cement for a seamless, sculptural base, light water concrete boards for refined textural depth, and stainless steel for a futuristic edge. Integrated LED lighting and custom neon installations emphasize layered illumination. Advanced fabrication and modular installation techniques ensure precision, durability, and efficient maintenance, aligning with the project's sustainable "low consumption" ethos.
Design Challenge
The greatest challenge lay in balancing the aesthetic tension between technological coldness and human warmth. Integrating neon and reflective surfaces without overwhelming comfort required iterative lighting tests and material sampling. Limited precedents for low-consumption cyberpunk dining demanded extensive cross-disciplinary research in lighting engineering, environmental psychology, and sustainable spatial composition.
Project Duration
The project started in February 2025 and finished in July 2025 in China.
Operation Flow
The dining experience unfolds through visual and sensory transitions - from dim, immersive entry zones to vibrant central dining areas. Guests interact with dynamic light sequences and reflective stainless surfaces that respond to movement, evoking a feeling of stepping into a digital world. The open spatial circulation allows fluid human flow, making dining both an emotional and experiential journey.
Research
This project follows qualitative design research exploring emotional engagement within high-tech spatial environments. The study analyzed user perception of light, texture, and spatial rhythm through observation and material experimentation. Results revealed that sensory balance between industrial roughness and organic warmth enhances user comfort and brand memory. Insights contribute to future models of immersive, tech-driven hospitality design.
Inspiration
The project draws inspiration from the cyberpunk vision of coexistence between technology and humanity. In a world saturated with information and material desire, the design seeks to evoke introspection through sensory balance. Influenced by the concept of "high technology, low life," it reinterprets the dining space as a poetic reflection of modern urban life, where rough industrial materials and soft lights narrate the tension between the digital and the real.
