About Sneakpeak Sneaker Tracker

Sneakpeak is a mobile application designed to help sneaker enthusiasts track limited sneaker releases. Information about such releases is often scattered across websites, forums and social media. Sneakpeak gathers release details in one place. Personalized alerts, a release calendar and home screen widgets give quick updates on selected models. An interactive countdown room opens before each release and allows live chat between users. The application works on iOS and Android devices and supports modern smartphone screen sizes.

Andre Magracia's Sneakpeak Sneaker Tracker emerges from contemporary digital product design traditions that prioritize clarity, systematic organization, and user-centered functionality within the specialized domain of limited release consumer goods tracking. This mobile application interface exemplifies the convergence of database-driven information architecture and refined visual design, serving enthusiast communities who navigate the complex temporal landscape of product launches with the precision once reserved for financial markets or transportation schedules. The compositional presentation through tri-device photography establishes immediate legibility of the application's core value proposition—simultaneous management of calendar-based release tracking, personalized watchlist curation, and comprehensive browsing of available products—while the pristine white background and professional lighting conventions position the work within established product photography and interface documentation traditions. The chromatic sophistication demonstrates considerable restraint and strategic intention: the dominant charcoal interface provides optimal contrast for extended screen viewing while conveying contemporary digital aesthetic preferences, the pure white backgrounds ensure typographic legibility and reduce cognitive load, and the carefully deployed cyan blue accents function as interactive signifiers guiding user attention toward actionable elements following established color psychology principles in digital interface design. Technical execution reveals accomplished understanding of information hierarchy through varied typographic scale, generous negative space supporting rapid content scanning, and systematic grid structures organizing temporal and product data into immediately comprehensible visual patterns. The systematic presentation of sneaker releases through product photography combined with colorway designation, timing metadata, and model nomenclature reflects sophisticated database architecture translated into accessible visual form, each content card balancing aesthetic appeal with functional information density. The diagonal device arrangement generates dynamic visual interest while simultaneously demonstrating multiple application views within a single composition, a presentation strategy common in digital product marketing yet executed here with particular attention to angular rhythm and balanced asymmetry. The interface design itself honors mobile platform conventions—bottom-aligned navigation with universally recognized iconography, swipe-friendly vertical scrolling, card-based content containers allowing individual interaction—while introducing custom features specific to the sneaker tracking use case including calendar integration, watchlist countdown indicators, and curated selection prompts. This work invites consideration of how digital tools reshape contemporary collecting practices and consumer enthusiasm, transforming what might once have involved scattered information sources and manual tracking into integrated systematic experiences. The aesthetic choices throughout—from the geometric sans-serif typography to the generous whitespace to the disciplined accent color deployment—suggest design sensibilities influenced by modernist principles of clarity and reduction applied to contemporary mobile contexts. One might observe how the application appears to serve a dual function: practical utility for tracking temporal release windows alongside the pleasure of curated visual browsing through desirable product imagery, creating an experience that honors both instrumental efficiency and the aesthetic enjoyment inherent in specialized collecting communities. The work stands as representative of contemporary digital product design excellence where functional requirements and visual refinement achieve harmonious integration, where complex database functionality becomes accessible through thoughtful interface architecture, and where design serves both immediate usability needs and longer-term user engagement through sustained aesthetic appeal.

Production Technology
User research was the foundation of the design process. Through interviews and journey mapping with sneakerheads, I identified key frustrations including, scattered information across platforms, lack of personalization, and poor drop-day experiences. Using Figma, FigJam, and Notion, I prototyped and tested solutions iteratively.
Design Challenge
A key challenge was designing a tool that felt useful to users who want to monitor sneaker releases. The challenge was to include features of community engagement and user customization, so users would continue to use the platform. Ideally, Sneakpeak would be a place where users interact with others while being a database of a sneaker's history, value, and interest.
Project Duration
The project started in February 2023 in New York and finished in May 2025 in Brooklyn, New York.
Operation Flow
Users interact with Sneakpeak through a personalized dashboard where they track selected sneaker they want to track via the sneaker calendar. The interactive countdown room activates before each drop, enabling live chat and shared anticipation. The app improves the experience by reducing clutter, focusing only on desired drops, and transforming anxious waiting into social engagement within the sneaker community.
Research
User-centered research aimed to understand frustrations around sneaker releases. I used surveys, interviews, and community observation to gather data from sneakerheads. Participants shared common pain points including lack of personalization, bad drop-day experiences, and alternative hacks they do. Insights led to features like tracking customization and the interactive waiting room, improving both individual planning and community connection.
Inspiration
After each sneaker drop, I would often scroll through online forums to see the collective disappointment from those who missed out. I also felt disconnected with the uneventful confirmation screen. I wanted to design a platform that better reflects the lively discussions and reactions on social media before and following anticipated releases.
