About The Symphony of Leisure Residential
The Symphony of Leisure is a residential interior design created for a model home of about 26 ping. The plan contains three bedrooms, a living room, a dining room and a study. The dining area is arranged as a vista seen from the entryway, and a painting of blue fireworks acts as the central image. Stone, marble and wood veneers are used on cabinets, tabletops and vista walls. Semi-transparent titanium-plated screens separate the bedroom and the study. Wall-mounted cabinets, layered ceilings and pre-embedded lights make use of overhead space in a small residence.

- Production Technology
- The interior applied natural colors as the main tonal while stones, marble, and wood veneers are used on cabinets, tabletops, and vista walls; the spread-out of the different fabrics in wooden tonal continues towards the ceiling to deliver a sense of steadiness. Furthermore, the colors have also echoed with the greenery and sunlight outside the window, creating a cozy, comfy, avant-garde yet luxurious living space.
- Design Challenge
- The designer changed the location of the front door and rotated the facade of the bedroom and the kitchen to increase spatial fluency while eliminating the dullness brought by the single hallway. The selection and pairing of the materials, such as the master bedroom secret door equipped with mirrors, the semi-transparent reticular screens, and the multi-function cabinets combined with partition walls; all of the ingenuity has brought function to the narrow spatial, and the spreading of the materials have made the interior expansive visually.
- Project Duration
- The project finished in April 2021 in Banqiao District, New Taipei City.
- Operation Flow
- In view of the trend of small residences nowadays, each corner has to be planned and used wisely; therefore, how to apply overhead spaces was the critical consideration of this project. By applying wall-mounting cabinets, ceilings that outline layers, and the pre-embedded lights, the area is built up with layers and a sense of transparency. Furthermore, the walls of the secondary bedroom are combined with the cabinets of the children room; hangers are set up on the bedroom-facing side to give more flexibility for storage.
- Research
- The designer valued the pipeline configurations and construction and made sure the environment, lighting, and ventilation conditions of the structure location could meet the requirements for the final interior design. The material selections of the indoor have been carefully chosen to connect with the outdoor greenery, while the delicate changes between the dark and light colors have created a new definition for consistency. The overall is centered on the painting of the dining area; three breathtaking blue fireworks have given the space more imagination.
- Inspiration
- The designer of this project hoped to bring out the different faces of life through the design and decorations and has used a firework hanging painting as the key imagery of the space. The designer thinks that (Comfort is the projection of living, while leisure is the grasp of life.) A home reflects a family; it can also be a longing to pursue a better spiritual condition. Interior space should be able to give peace of mind, extend to lifestyle, and create a better living.
