About Timeless Kitchen
Timeless is a kitchen furniture system that combines artistry, functionality, durability and customisation. The design carries a touch of nature through vertical lines inspired by water streaming down a window. The same lines appear in the shelving, the handles, the colour accents, the surface engravings and the pendant lampshade. The base cabinets are made of powder-coated aluminium, a material chosen for its structural strength. Cabinet interiors have edgeless corners for easy cleaning, and peg holes with brackets allow flexible shelf heights.
Positioned within the contemporary discourse surrounding integrated kitchen architecture, Timeless Kitchen by Alustil Sdn Bhd represents a distinguished contribution to the evolving vocabulary of domestic spatial design, wherein functional necessity and aesthetic refinement achieve seamless synthesis. The work demonstrates exceptional command of material juxtaposition, balancing the visual weight of extensive matte-finished cabinetry against the lightness introduced by transparent glass shelving and warm timber elements, a compositional strategy that suggests deep understanding of perceptual dynamics within enclosed domestic environments. The chromatic restraint exhibited throughout, predominantly cool charcoal values punctuated by carefully measured warm accents, reflects sophisticated awareness of how color temperature influences spatial perception and emotional atmosphere. Particularly noteworthy is the integration of the suspended linear luminaire, which functions simultaneously as functional lighting source and sculptural intervention, its repeated disc elements establishing visual rhythm while casting diffused warmth across working surfaces below. The strategic deployment of accent illumination within recessed cabinet niches elevates utilitarian storage into curated display, suggesting that culinary environments may serve equally as galleries for cherished objects and vessels associated with the rituals of nourishment and hospitality. The emerald accent detailing offers chromatic surprise within the otherwise restrained palette, demonstrating how minimal interventions may produce maximum visual impact when precisely calibrated. One observes throughout an evident commitment to material authenticity, where each surface treatment appears appropriate to its function while contributing to the unified atmospheric character. Viewers might contemplate how such environments shape daily domestic experience, transforming the preparation of meals into occasions for aesthetic engagement and quiet pleasure.

- Design Challenge
- Challenges include
1. Engraving the vertical lines deep enough to create v-shaped valley on the already thin compact panels used on door panels and waterfall worktop of the island without compromising its structural strength.
2. Finding suitable materials to replace the wood of the pendant lamp to increase transparency so it resembles a cloud more than the original material designed.
3. Applying the designer's signature colour, Lava Green, with paint on to the powder-coated aluminium handles so that the paint could stick, withstand scratches and prolong its colour. - Project Duration
- Project started November 2019 in Sydney, Australia and finish in March 2020 in Johor, Malaysia, and was exhibited on July 2020 in Guangzhou, China at the CBD FAIR (GUANGZHOU) 2020 - THE 22nd China (Guangzhou) International Building Decoration Fair.

The main focus of designing this work was on manufacturing techniques and materials used to achieve as close to the design as possible with maximised functionality, durability, and elegance.
The award-winning design will be one of Alustil’s publicity tool or star design for the year 2021.
The overall process from design concept to the finished kitchen takes five months.
Alustil is a kitchen manufacturer, and we aimed to leap into a new milestone of craftsmanship and design detailing. So, we commissioned Chris Bosse, an architect known for his works on the Watercube, National Aquatic Centre in Beijing and his aptitude for translating nature into architecture and design.
Alustil Sdn Bhd has the production rights to the Timeless kitchen. The first kitchen was produced in March 2020 and exhibited at The 22nd China (Guangzhou) International Building Decoration Fair in July 2020.
This Timeless kitchen is made in hopes to elevate every ordinary cook space into a kitchen masterpiece.
Chris Bosse, the architect, is the main designer for this Timeless kitchen. We work with a local art director to visually uphold the design and our technical and manufacturing team to solve materials issues and realise the design.
