About Villa Suu Residential House
Villa Suu is a two-story private residence with an interior area of 459 square meters. A mature olive tree stands at the core of the interior and acts as the anchor of the design. The main floor holds the entrance hall, living room, kitchen, study room and a guest restroom. The upper floor holds the primary bedroom with a bathroom, two further bedrooms with bathrooms and a laundry room. Wood, brass, glass, lacquer and natural stone are combined in bespoke details. The interior joins minimal restraint with classical richness.
Villa Suu Residential House by Treso Interiors exemplifies the contemporary architectural pursuit of meaningful dialogue between built environment and living nature, positioning itself within traditions that span from ancient Roman atrium houses through modernist courtyard designs to current biophilic practice. The work demonstrates exceptional sensitivity in its material orchestration, where the textured bouclé upholstery of the curved seating elements establishes tactile warmth against the refined planarity of engineered wood flooring, while rough-hewn stucco walls provide visual weight that grounds the ethereal transparency of the glass envelope. Technical accomplishment reveals itself in the precision of the bronze-framed glazing system, which achieves near-invisibility while maintaining structural integrity sufficient to support the architectural ambition of erasing boundaries between interior comfort and exterior contemplation. The chromatic strategy employs remarkable restraint, building complexity through subtle gradations within a narrow tonal range rather than through chromatic contrast, the sage greens of upholstery finding echo in the silvered olive foliage while warm wood undertones harmonize with cream-colored masonry. Central to the composition stands an ancient olive specimen whose sculptural presence transforms utilitarian courtyard into sacred grove, its gnarled trunk bearing witness to centuries while its persistent vitality offers meditation on continuity and growth. The arrangement of furniture creates intimate gathering space oriented toward this natural focal point, suggesting that conversation and contemplation might occur simultaneously, that human connection finds enhancement rather than competition in proximity to living beauty. One might observe how the horizontal privacy screening beyond filters light into rhythmic patterns that animate the gravel garden floor, while the careful absence of extraneous decoration allows material honesty and spatial quality to carry the full expressive burden. How does the presence of ancient living things within contemporary spaces alter our perception of time and permanence?

- Production Technology
- The project was developed through a rigorous analytical framework prioritizing spatial hierarchy and structural clarity. Frequent meetings with the homeowners enabled a thorough understanding of their routines and lifestyle, shaping key design decisions. Iterative plan studies and 3D simulations refined proportion and daylight performance. Material choices emphasized durability and authenticity, while scenario based planning ensured precise functionality aligned with everyday domestic use.
- Design Challenge
- Integrating materials with distinct characteristics such as wood, brass, glass, lacquer, and natural stone, across varying forms and scales, into the refined details of a single piece of furniture, while meeting our expectation for exceptional craftsmanship, was one of the most challenging phases of the project. Every junction, tolerance, and surface transition required meticulous resolution.
- Project Duration
- The project started in February 2023, and finished in November 2023. Consturction and implementation period finished in June 2024.
- Operation Flow
- Villa Suu offers its users a distinctive and refined living experience. The project promises not only a carefully designed balance between function and aesthetics, but also a cultivated lifestyle that enhances everyday living. The space can be described as a custom tailored jacket, precise and perfectly aligned with its owner’s character.
From its technical infrastructure to textile selections, every component has been conceived through a holistic and integrated approach. - Research
- Careful observation for characters of the house is the main point of reserach. Through ongoing dialogue, their needs, routines, astehetic and functional expectations are decoded, sometimes revealed through a sentence, a gesture or a travel route planned. The research then shifts to the building’s technical constraints and a focused exploration of materials and construction methods.
- Inspiration
- The olive tree at the core of the interior, symbolizing wisdom, resilience and serenity, is the primary inspiration. The homeowners held contrasting aesthetic inclinations, one favoring minimal restraint, the other drawn to classical richness. The design aims for a balanced synthesis, ensuring a seamless domestic experience while preserving visual calm and clarity.
