Book Text: I-Hangzhou Haishu yindawo yezakhiwo zesikolo edibanisa isikolo samabanga aphantsi (kindergarten) kunye nesikolo samabanga aphantsi (primary school). Le kampasi ibandakanya izakhiwo zokufundisa, isakhiwo solawulo, iholo lezemidlalo (gym) kunye negumbi lokutyela (canteen). Zonke iindawo ezisebenzayo zidityaniswe ngokulandelelana ngeekhorido kunye neenkundla zangaphakathi ezinamanqanaba ahlukeneyo okuvuleleka. Izinyuko ezibonakalayo kunye neekhorido ezenziwe ngendlela edynamikhi zisebenza kokubini ekuhambeni nasekwenzeni imisebenzi. Uyilo lwaphefumlelwa ngumzobo womntwana wesikolo esifezekileyo esibonwa njengedolophana encinci. Le kampasi enobungakanani obuyi-28000 yeemitha ezingokwesikwere yahlulwe yaba yimiqondiso emincinci eyi-15 enophahla oluqhotyoshiweyo (gabled), kwaye umqondiso ngamnye ukhula ngobungakanani ngokweminyaka yabantwana.

Unique Properties: Theproject of Hangzhou Haishu School with a kindergarten and a primary school. The school project consists of teaching buildings, an administration building, a gym, a canteen, etc. All the functional spaces are connected in series through corridors, inner courtyards and corridors of different opening degrees. Exposed stairs and corridors shaped dynamically are not only designed for circulation, but also for plenty of activity spaces.
Inspiration: It is inspired by a random impromptu child drawing that depictshis ideal school which is like a small town full of small scale spaces and “happy” streets.Based on this inspiration, architects divided the 28000sqm campus into 15 much smaller scale gabled volume. The scale of each volume gradually increases according to the growth of children’s ageand the variation in their behaviors. A comfortable campus environment is formed by small inner courtyards within and among these volumes.
