Interviews
Design Interview
What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
The inspiration comes from the exploration of new forms inspired by maritime activities. Its aggressive design is reminiscent of the old harpoons—efficient and fast—that were used for deep-sea fishing. Those in which the blade sliced through the water until it reached its prey. The idea of slicing through the water was one of the fundamental design principles of the Pescare 55, reflected in its hull, which also had to serve the boat’s purpose without sacrificing style and comfort.
What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
We wanted to create a completely new and innovative concept for fishing boats, and I think we've succeeded—at the very least, we'll be able to offer something entirely different from what's currently available on the market.
What are your future plans for this award winning design?
Let’s hope this achievement opens the door to new projects where we can showcase our skills in designing new yachts.
Grand Interview
The Pescare 55 Sport Fishing Yacht draws a remarkably evocative formal lineage from the ancient deep-sea harpoon, a conceptual anchor that appears to animate every aggressive line and forward-cutting profile of the vessel. Could you walk us through how this historical metaphor was translated into specific structural and formal design decisions, and what moments during that translation process felt most creatively defining for the identity of the Pescare 55 Sport Fishing Yacht?
We wanted to focus primarily on a conceptual product rooted in the marine world; this object had to conceptually adhere to the idea we had from the very beginning and had to align with our hypothesis about what constitutes good performance and how it is achieved without sacrificing features or capabilities. A form that is so basic yet generates so much movement is one of the main qualities of this object. While other concepts played a role in the boat’s design—such as fine Italian design and the fluidity of its forms—it was the idea of the harpoon that gave rise to and sustained the yacht.
Many enthusiasts of luxury nautical design are asking today whether a vessel can genuinely serve two masters simultaneously, delivering elite sport fishing performance without surrendering the refined comfort expected of a premium yacht, and the Pescare 55 Sport Fishing Yacht appears to answer that question with considerable confidence. How did you navigate the design tension between the raw functional demands of deep-sea sport fishing and the aesthetic language of contemporary luxury yachts, and what guiding principles helped you hold those two worlds in balance throughout the development of the Pescare 55 Sport Fishing Yacht?
There were two fundamental requirements when designing the vessel: comfort and functionality. Based on these two concepts, we began researching existing examples and generating new hypotheses about what a luxury fishing yacht should and should not be. We started with concise questions to obtain clear answers and begin the design process. We never lost sight of the boat’s primary function, so once that was established, it was somewhat easier to focus on luxury and comfort.
The Pescare 55 Sport Fishing Yacht employs a composite sandwich construction combining fiberglass-reinforced polymer, PVC core materials, carbon fiber, and aluminum, all realized through vacuum infusion and computer-numerical-control machining processes. In what ways did these material and manufacturing choices serve not only the structural and hydrodynamic performance goals of the Pescare 55 Sport Fishing Yacht but also reflect a broader commitment to reducing environmental impact during its production, and how do you see that balance between performance material science and ecological responsibility shaping yacht engineering going forward?
We firmly believe that by creating new products with stronger materials, we contribute in some way to the final product’s greater durability. In addition to our strong belief in contemporary design, these materials can often be recycled and even modified. Even when it comes to resins and plastics, using them conscientiously and creating a product that stands the test of time is also a way to help mitigate and reduce environmental damage. Advances in science and technology are accelerating. The use of new materials—such as synthetic woods, for example, to replace natural teak—helps raise awareness of how finite material resources are and that other possibilities and alternatives exist. New technologies enable the development of new forms and new equipment without losing sight of mechanical efficiency.

- Unique Properties
- Luxury yacht designed for recreational fishing, offering exceptional comfort and style compared to other boats in its class. Its elegant exterior design sets it apart from other fishing boats, with clean, sporty lines that enhance its modern profile. Its spacious deck integrates two fishing seats and a lounge area with a sofa, creating a versatile space for both fishing and relaxation. It features a built-in freezer and strategically placed rod holders, combining functionality and elegance. In addition, the fishing seats have a folding system that allows them to be stored below deck, providing more space to enjoy the sun deck.

- Production Technology
- The pescare 55 balances sport fishing and luxury through cutting-edge naval engineering. Its hull was optimized with cfd simulations for maximum efficiency. Built with composite sandwich materials (prfv/pvc), carbon fiber, and aluminum, it reduces weight and improves stability. Its production employs vacuum infusion and cnc machining, ensuring millimeter precision, high structural strength, and lower environmental impact. A design focused on performance and innovation. To achieve this goal, the design and production process relied on an integration of advanced digital methodologies and cutting-edge manufacturing technologies.
- Design Challenge
- The most difficult part of the project was creating a novel and distinctive product that met market requirements and standards, but was also out of the ordinary. The word innovation is somewhat difficult to apply in such a digitized world with so much information available at all times. It is easy to fall back on a product that already exists and simply modify a few lines. We believe that this project will be very well received by the public who truly value good design. As it is a boat, the technology is well established, and its aluminum hull allows for a lightweight yet resistant structure. We simply hope that its acceptance and integration into the market will be really good and that it can generate a paradigm shift in the design of fishing yachts.
- Research
- The main challenge was to create a disruptive fishing boat that broke the current paradigm. Stepping away from automated trends, we rethought the industry to exceed the highest standards. Our proposal is clear: why not fish on a luxury yacht that also offers exceptional sea performance? We unite luxury, comfort, and cutting-edge design to provide a truly unparalleled experience. That is Pescare, the essence of fishing.
- Inspiration
- Inspiration comes from studying new forms inspired by maritime activities. Its aggressive design harks back to the old harpoons, effective and fast, that were used for deep-sea fishing. Where its blade cut through the water until it reached its prey. The idea of cutting through the water was one of the main design principles behind the pescare 55, which also had to do with the purpose of the boat: to take us out to sea to engage in one of the oldest activities in human history, fishing.
- Project Duration
- The project began in july 2025 in Argentina, when my contact in Italy contacted me with the idea of creating a new concept that would break the paradigms of fishing boats. With the idea of creating a different boat, we were able to meet all the requirements and apply them to this new design. The project was completed in february 2026 and has not yet been published.
- Operation Flow
- This highly sporty and efficient fishing yacht, thanks to its hull design, allows us to sail safely and smoothly, achieving high speeds without losing stability or control. Its wide stern allows us to enjoy a sunny day as well as to carry out the main activity for which this boat was designed: deep-sea fishing. The interior maintains luxury and detail but in a constant balance and with accentuated lines that give it character and style compared to its competitors.
