About Lost Species Bildungsillustratiounen

Déi dräi Informatiounsgrafike déngen als Grondlag fir d'Thema vum Lazarus-Effekt anzeféieren. Si beinhalten "Déi Sechs Grouss Massenextinktiounen", "Doudeswaach vun den Aarten", souwéi eng Informatiounsgrafik vun de "Lokale Faarpflanzen a Bléiepflanzen" (baséiert op der Rote Liste, 2018). De Lazarus-Effekt baséiert op dem Thema vum Lazarus-Effekt, wéi et vum Paleontolog David Jablonski gepräägt gouf. Dëst bezitt sech op déi ongewollt Nei-Entdeckung (duerch Zoufall, duerch Expeditioun oder duerch Ëmsiidlungsprojeten) vun enger virdru verluerener oder als ausgestuerwe betruechter Liewensform.

Design Challenge
The hardest part was it to visually compress the complex topic informations of extinction from the anthropological, biological and paleontological side into an understandable graphic. The infographics are a part of the Lazarus Effect-Campaign, special attention is paid to the complementary interaction.
The subject deals with the death and (mass) extinction. The black and white style in detail and the rich contrasted illustrations are the best way of visualization and communication for this serious topic.
Research
Research with anthropological, biological and paleontological literature, as well as support of various natural history museums.
The design is rich in detail. They are drawn as vector graphics in black and white and thus fits in well with most of the musee's scenographic installations.

The graphics are structured in such a way that the viewer can discover more and more. All thre infographics are in a large-format and understandable for everyone. The Topics are compressed and build on on each other.
Inspiration
To educate about the extinction history and to promote the idea of sustainability among the general public, with emphases that extinction can be reversed, and to raise awareness of positive and negative human in uences on Nature. They are a part of the LazarusEffect campaign.
Project Duration
The project startet in may 2020
Operation Flow
