About Power Trail He Pūhera Whakamahi-Anō
Ko Power Trail he pūhera kāri whātui i hoahoatia kia whakamahia anō i muri i te whakatuwheratanga. Ka tuwhera te kāri mā tētahi raupapa ārahi, ā, mā ngā whakairoiro kua tāia e arahi te kaiwhakamahi i ia hipanga. Ka tangohia ngā wāhanga panoni-puta mai i te papa tonu, ka hurihia hei ngohe tiritahi. Kāore he rauemi tāpiri, he whakahiato tuarua rānei e hiahiatia ana mō te panonitanga.
About the A' Design Award Parahi
Ko Power Trail He Pūhera Whakamahi-Anō te toa o te A' Design Award Parahi, he whakaaetanga tino whai mana e hoatu ana ki ngā hoahoa kōeke e tohua ana mā te auaha, te mahi mōhio me te whakaaro hōhonu. Ko ngā toa Parahi he mahi pukenga e rite ana, he auaha mīharo, e whakatūturu ana i te wheako nui, te whakaaro me te mōhio-ā-ringa o ā rātou kaihoahoa. E tūmanakohia ana ko Power Trail He Pūhera Whakamahi-Anō he taonga whakanuia, whakamīharotia, aroha nui, he ngaio, he auaha hoki. Ko tēnei hoahoa i toa i te Parahi e whakauru ana i ngā tikanga pai rawa i te toi, te pūtaiao, te hoahoa me te hangarau, ā, he tino mīharo ki ngā taipitopito. Ka whakatutuki a Power Trail He Pūhera Whakamahi-Anō i ngā hiahia, ka pā ki ngā hiahia, ka whakaoho i ngā kare-ā-roto, ā, ka kume i te pākiki.
Press Kit
- Unique Properties
- This design converts conventional packaging into a reusable interactive system through integrated structural transformation and graphic sequencing. Play elements are embedded directly within the carton using die-cut components and guided visual progression. Unlike disposable packaging, the object retains value beyond protection and transport. The solution extends functional lifespan while remaining compatible with standard production processes.
- Dimensions & Packaging
- Width 388 mm x Depth 278mm x Height 352mm
- Tags
- Reusable packaging, Circular design, Interactive graphics, Structural transformation, Sustainable engagement, Packaging innovation, Behavioral design, Lifecycle extension
- Production Technology
- The design utilizes standard folding carton production methods, including offset printing, precision die-cutting, and controlled creasing. Structural transformation is achieved without additional materials or secondary assembly. Graphic sequencing and punch-out components are integrated within existing manufacturing tolerances, ensuring scalability and compatibility with conventional packaging supply chains.
- Design Challenge
- The primary challenge was integrating interaction without increasing material usage or manufacturing complexity. Internally, the design required balancing clarity, durability, and engagement. Externally, constraints included die-cut precision, folding tolerances, and production scalability. Iterative prototyping and structural simplification enabled transformation while preserving feasibility and cost efficiency.
- Research
- This design research project investigated how packaging can influence post-use behavior. Methods included observational study, rapid prototyping, and user testing with families. Data was gathered through interaction sessions and feedback interviews. Results indicated increased retention time and cooperative engagement. Findings suggest that structural interaction can positively affect reuse behavior and reduce premature disposal.
- Inspiration
- The project originated from observing how packaging is typically discarded immediately after unboxing. The intention was to explore whether packaging could act as a behavioral trigger for longer use. By linking visual progression, interaction, and shared activity, the design repositions packaging as an object that supports experience rather than waste.
- Project Duration
- The project was developed in 2025. Design research and development were completed in China, with the final solution prepared in 2026 for international design award submissions and exhibitions, as well as for potential real-world production between 2026 and 2027.
- Operation Flow
- The packaging opens in a sequential manner that guides users to unfold and repurpose the structure. Embedded components are removed directly from the carton and activated through simple interaction. The transformation shifts the object from container to shared activity, encouraging prolonged use and repeated engagement through intuitive physical interaction.
